The staff was amazing and very knowledgeable. We adopted a nine week old black kitty named Salem. We renamed our kitty Spider. He is doing great and loves our other kitten. Thank you so much. We are so happy.
Very helpful the two times I have had to use them. First to have my kitty spayed. Second to take and adopt out another kitty that needed a home. In both these cases my phone calls were returned in a timely fashion and the needs were taken care of in short time. I recommend anyone wanting an animal to go here first to adopt one. Very helpful staff.
Friendly staff. The great thing was they only had 3 dogs/ puppies for adoption unlike most SPCA that are currently over flowing with future pets. That is great to see. Great job Roanoke Valley SPCA.
7/15/2024 Not to Happy with my Visit. We lost our fur baby last week. We drove from Bedford county, showed up about 6:25. The hours on Saturday 7/13/2024 were 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The door was open. When we approached the counter we were refused and turned away from seeing the dogs that were up for adoption. Why if you ask? We were told you have to make and appointment. When I checked the SPCA website for the hours I did not see anything about having to make an Appointment. This should be posted with The Hours, that you have to make an appointment. Yes it is on the website but it is in a place where you have to read a few paragraphs down to find it. What upset me the most was there were no other customers in the building there, to see the dogs. I asked This women if we could make an appointment right then to see the dogs, we had 35 Minutes till closing, She said No it stresses the dogs out, I remember before COVID you could walk in and the dogs were HAPPY to see people. Well COVID is gone there is no lock down. I think it is Cruel to the dogs to not let people see them. The dogs want forever homes.
Roanoke Valley SPCA gets 5 stars for being so generous and kind enough to give my cat and dog a big bag of food each! They were so kind and the whole process was easy. Thank you to the Roanoke Valley SPCA and to everyone that has donated pet food to the Roanoke Valley SPCA!!!!
I adopted my baby boy here a few months ago. I had had trouble adopting earlier due to some having age requirements, and as an 18 year old, when they say I can't adopt until I'm 21, my heart sank. The Roanoke Valley SPCA let me adopt at 18, and gave me lots of information on my little guys' background, and history. They also provided me with chip information and signing him up for a lost pets website, and even gave me a $200 off visit to a local vets to get him checked up after adoption. They treated him and myself with the best of care, and were so excited to see a little one adopted. Being able to adopt my Jack was one of the best things that has happened to me, and I am so glad I was able to get him from the Roanoke SPCA.
