I recently joined WildEarth Guardians as a donor and have been extremely pleased with the work they are doing. They are on the front lines fighting to protect the wilderness and animals we should all hold dear! If you care at all about the natural world, especially in the west, and especially with the current political climate, I hope you will take the time to check out their site and become a donor as well!
Tree-hugging hipsters that took legal action; U.S. District Court Judge Marco Hernandez’s order has led to a significant drawdown of the water level in Green Peter Reservoir here in Oregon. Stay in Arizona and mind your own resources there; you and your actions are not wanted here in Oregon.
The first thing I like about WildEarth Guardians is that they are successful in efforts to defend wildlife. The second is they team up with other groups to be even more effective in their efforts for the environment. Many of these environment organizations do not get down and dirty with their work - they work at the edges, never getting to the source of the problem. I don't support those organizations.
WildEarth Guardians is an uncompromising voice urging strong protection for the wild lands, wild rivers and wildlife of the American West. WildEarth Guardians is a necessary and effective organization committed to protecting and preserving our shared natural world and I strongly believe in and support the good work they do each and every day.
I met some of the WildEarth staff members at a meeting 10 years ago and have increased my support and respect for this organization throughout this time. They have been very successful in their programs. This includes their legal efforts in courts as well as on ground negotiation with local communities and groups that do not always agree with conservation ways of thinking. They are not divisive but they are persistent and strong.
Impassioned and strategic on many levels, Wild Earth Guardians can show anyone how to do better advocacy. The campaign to Bridge the Continental Divide is a favorite - it's a big vision to link together parcels of back country Rocky Mountain lands so that animals can freely seek their destinies there. Another favorite - chasing down bad deals in fossil fuel extraction on the public lands of the American West and getting those efforts stalled. Bravo!
