I have had a terrible experience with this absolutely horrible staff and care of animals at this shelters Veterinary the Clare Eddie Thaw Animal Hospital. DO NOT RECOMMEND. It was sketchy from the start and the staff were immediately hostile and defensive. When I booked and appointment for my two rabbits I accidentally showed up late because I read the times wrong. I had missed the first appointment but was early for the second one. They tried to refuse to let me in for my second appointment saying as I was late? The front desk staff at the animal clinic was overall very rude. When they were checking out my female rabbit Yeti during the second appointment they harshly took her to the back where I couldn’t see her then told me that they were going to give her a checkup and her vaccines. She comes back about five minutes later and all the lady covered in tattoos and smelling terrible told me was that she was fine. About two days later I found a deadly infection on the bottom of her neck and it was caused by her teeth growing into her bottom jaw. The vet obviously didn’t check her out. I looked all around Santa Fe for a vet that would take her and finally we found an amazing vet that was loving and kind and did her best to save her. Seeing as Yeti had already lost all of her weight because she wasn’t able to eat she couldn’t make it through the surgery. We were forced to put her down leaving her companion Buggs devastated and lonely. Due to the incompetence and impatience of the workers here This poor innocent beautiful little creature lost her life at only four months old. Do NOT recommend, I pray that you won’t make the same mistakes I have. I had to watch the life slowly draining out of her curious and playful soul. I had to watch her her suffer while I struggled with the thought of losing her. If you sign up to become a vet, do your job.

I enjoy volunteering at the shelter. Every time I walk the dogs I learn something new about dogs from the helpful staff.

This place is awesome of course it's a no-kill shelter and rescues as many Critters as possible. I got my Lilith from here and she is just the sweetest creature in the world. I believe she was born at the son of a animal shelter. However I'm not 100% sure about that. What I can say is that getting a critter from here is something you will never regret. They will give you love when you need it and just looking at their cute sweet innocent little face could brighten the day. Having a pet has so many benefits including living longer. I got to tell you the kids love her beyond belief she chases them around the house and plays with them constantly. She has truly become a wonderful addition and fantastic family member. I'm so happy to have her in our lives she truly brightens my day. Plus she is just beautiful black cat look at those eyes. Plus if it fits she sits and we love that!!!

Just adopted my new pup from here. We love him. Sai is a good boy It was clean and the staff here are truly awesome. Thank you guys for everything you do for these pets 🐶❣️

I’m a contractor who has done some work here. They are really good people. The staff seems truly happy they get to work with the animals. I had a great view observing. I’m going to adopt a pup from them soon. I’m still grieving from the passing of my dog, Bam.

Staff was incredible! Our adoption counselor made things easy and quick. We bought our sweet girl home Sunday. We got to take her to the field and play with her for a while. We have a one year old and wanted to be sure she would get along with him. Staff made me feel comfortable in our decision. Would recommend 10/10.
