I was in town visiting and missing my cats, and the hour I spent here was perfect. A three-legged sweetie (Charm, though I'm sure she'll be long gone to a good home soon!) sat on my partner's lap, and we pet her for the entire hour! The best way to spend an hour. This space is clearly very comfortable for the cats, who were playing and interacting with each other and with the people in the room. Also, Cats and Play does a good job of managing the number of people in the space so that it doesn't get frenetic. It's clear that the well-being of the cats is the number one priority here - they are an adoption center, after all! There are tons of toys and cat trees, and you can buy a Churu treat if you want to guarantee that you make a friend. Thanks for having us and for getting so many little cats into good homes. If you meet a cat here that you really love, but can't adopt, consider paying for the adoption fee to help speed them into a home!

When travelling I almost always look for a Cat Cafe as I miss our animals back home. This was one of the best looking ones I have been to so far. Very nicely decorated, clean, with lots of great things for the cats to play with and sleep on. There was a nice group of kitties when we visited, many were sleeping and the few that were awake kept us very entertained. The staff was very friendly and the merchandise and snack section was fantastic. Worth it to get your cat fix.

Upon entering, my partner and I were greeted by two friendly employees who let us know the procedure for making reservations. They were very professional and helpful with the instructions given. The storefront is beautifully decorated and has a great selection of high-quality products to purchase. They have items such as cat toys, jewelry, household goods, and apparel to choose from. The cafe was rather busy as they prepped the cat area for the next group of visitors, while new visitors entered, inquiring about the experience. I particularly found the selection available to be creative and humorous - for example, their "Thin Mint MeowTea" and "Purrfectly Pink Meowtcha". Exceptionally clean, and beautifully decorated, I took about two dozen photos of the decor and artwork displayed. The experience of visiting the cats was great. Having a full house of our own, living with three cats and one dog, we had no intentions of adoption but rather wanted to have a new experience and support an organization that helps the welfare of animals. Lisa (owner), was extremely friendly and helpful. She encouraged us to interact with the cats and take plenty of photos/videos. There is plenty of seating and even games to play with, suited for both adults and children. Lisa went above and beyond, taking a considerable amount of time to share her experience about her journey with animal rescue. She also offered much-appreciated insight and resources to point us in the right direction regarding the behavioral concerns of our cats at home. Overall, the visit was more than I had expected, and we will continue to support Cats at Play Cafe. Thank you, Lisa! I can't thank you enough for the difference you make in the lives of both humans and felines!

What a great cause—and sweet way to have time with cats who are up for adoption and lower blood pressure all at once! ;) I spent some time with snuggly 🌼 Daisy, the 100th adoption! Refreshing drinks, kind staff, and cute kitties-what’s not to love? 💕

Thanks to Lisa and her amazing team, this sweet little guy has become part of the family!♡ Lisa went out of her way to walk me through all of his medical records, and even gave personal recommendations for local veterinarians in Asheville. 10/10 experience!

Cool little cafe located in downtown Asheville. The main attraction is the cats, but they also have great drinks and snacks. There are many cats week with different personalities, making this a unique experience. Make sure to reserve a spot if you plan on visiting the cats. I highly recommend visiting this cafe if you are in Asheville.
