After 3 visits and 3 poor experiences it's time to find a new vet. On the first visit, the receptionist was unapologetically combative. Prior to the visit I submitted all the requested paperwork, but she insisted I had not. After some back and forth, a nurse came out and informed the receptionist that I had indeed shared everything by email. It was one of the last appointments of the day, and doctor did nothing to hide that fact. She rushed the entire visit, I was in and out of the room in 5 minutes. The one question I had was dismissed, and the vaccines were given to my dog right in front of me as I held him down. On the second visit, the same rude receptionist was working; her tone hadn't changed. It was a tech appointment, and again rushed. The vaccine was given to my dog in the lobby, which is not the experience I expect at an animal hospital. The third and final appointment I was charged a $50 cancellation fee even though I went to the appointment. The previous Saturday I requested a sick visit after my dog had an upset stomach for a few days. The first available appointment was Tuesday afternoon. By Monday night, he had recovered and no longer needed to see the doctor. Early Tuesday morning I called, explained the situation, and offered to still come in for a follow-up vaccine. I understand it's their policy, but the only alternative option was to pay $95 to waste mine and the doctor's time. This is a unconscionable practice, especially considering I still gave them my business. I have been to caring, empathetic vets in the past and I can say without doubt this is not one of them. It's my experience that the vet prioritizes business over the care for animals.

I know lots of reviews have suggested that care is hit or miss here, but we have always been treated with great care and I have never encountered a rude receptionist. There have been times when it has been hard to get an appointment (especially during peak pandemic), but this past week I called for a same day appointment because my dog was vomiting blood and I cannot express how wonderful the entire visit was. If you were there on 3/15, I’m sorry if you had a longer wait time because the vet was dealing with us, but I would hope that your pet would get the same treatment if s/he was the one with the urgent need. The vet was coordinating care with my dog’s oncologist, ran all of the appropriate tests, and came up with a treatment plan that so far has worked wonders.

Horrible customer service. If you are looking to be treated poorly, this is the place for you and your pet. I had been referred to this place after moving here from Colorado. We are MUCH happier since finding a vet that CARES about you and your pet. I was supposedly patched through to a manager, not sure of her name.

Dr. Watson was amazing! She was so caring and gentle with my little pup as she went in for her check up. Not only that but she was very knowledgeable and took her time explaining everything that was done and next steps to take. If you need a vet, I would definitely recommend Dr. Watson and Del Ray Animal Hospital.

Dr. Watson at the animal hospital provided exceptional care for my two babies. Their expertise, compassion, and thoroughness were evident throughout the entire visit. I highly recommend them for anyone seeking top-notch veterinary services.

There is a woman at the front desk who answered my call in the morning of April 10th who is referenced by other reviewers as well for being shockingly rude and callous to pet owners. On this particular day my cat had been suffering for weeks with respiratory issues and nothing prescribed by this office had been helping. I called in the morning in a panic looking for guidance and when she consulted the vet she came back with the snottiest, most condescending and combative responses accusing me of not following directions properly when they were the opposite of what I had been directed to do the week before. The vet likely didn't remember past specifics which is understandable but her condescending accusatory attitude was unbelievably unprofessional. She offered me no help at all, hung up the phone without saying goodbye, and I ended up taking my poor baby to the hospital that day where they informed me that she had been misdiagnosed and that this vet had mishandled her care, and I had to euthanize her that same day given how bad the situation was. As heartbreaking as this is, it was made immeasurably worse by this atrocious front desk associate who has no business dealing with people and certainly not people who are calling in fragile emotional states about their beloved animals. Her incompetence in even the most basic interaction should be a deterrent for anybody considering this vet service, I hope that the clinic reads this review and understands how much damage she has done to a former client as I will never be bringing any future pets to this facility again.
