Dr.Hemstreet has continued to exceed my expectations with his knowledge of cats, and has helped my 3 cat family tremendously! He explains everything thoroughly during our visits and leaves me with no questions unanswered. Cannot say enough good things about him and our visits to BAH!

So I’m a fan and longtime customer of BAH South End Location. Today I visited the new location on Beverly Street. Earlier I had called in and spoke with Ely who let me know they had a cancellation and I booked it. The place is nice, the people are friendly and they were receptive to suggestions. They delivered the same care and attention that I receive at their other location. I took the T in when they mentioned on the phone that parking was tight but I did notice a parking garage on the same street. There were one or two spaces around the corner that I noticed as well (this was around 11am on a Wednesday). So just be aware of that if you plan on driving. Great experience. I definitely recommend.

We are extremely pleased with our entire experience at the Beverly St. location of Boston Animal Hospital! Not only were we able to get a same-day appointment for our Great Dane, we’ve also been able to schedule follow up appointments, labs, and procedures with ease and in an extremely timely manner. While most veterinary offices in Boston take forever to get into, and are scheduling appointments several weeks out, the caring staff here understands that time is extremely important when it comes to your pet’s health. More importantly, the staff at this location is amazing! They are extremely nice and love seeing your pet. It’s more than obvious that they care a great deal about you and your pet as well. They are gentle, professional, and do everything they can to make sure you and your pet are as comfortable as possible. Finally, Dr. Hemstreet is a fantastic veterinarian who clearly takes great pride in what he does. Not only is he extremely knowledgeable, but he also takes the time to fully explain and translate his thoughts/care plan/diagnosis to you in a way that’s easy to understand and follow. He’s also extremely thorough and will spend ample amount of time with you and your pet. Most importantly, it doesn’t feel like he’s trying to push expensive and/or unnecessary tests/treatments on you and your pet. It’s obvious that he cares about your pet’s health, and he is definitely dedicated to ensuring the best possible outcome for you and your pet. I’ve never had a vet ask me to please call them a couple days after our visit, just to check in, until I saw Dr. Hemstreet. I can’t recommend this location & its staff enough! Not to mention, this office is brand new and literally blocks away from where we live. I wish I could give more than 5 stars!

UPDATE: Ok I'm changing it back to 1 star based on the owner's reply. If you really want to take accountability for your mistakes, then your reply to my review should be honest. The vet told me he would not be testing the scab, not because it didn't have any DNA on it, which it did. (I have a photo where you can see the hairs attached to the scab and the roots attached to the hairs.) But he refused to test it because he said he felt it wouldn't be "representative" of my cat's overall health because he believed she had already fought the infection and was no longer carrying ringworm. He refused to do the test despite my request, despite knowing my other cat was positive, and despite happily charging $200 for it. And he knowingly tested skin that he said looked completely normal. Why would he do that unless he wanted to prove himself correct? Why didnt he instead test the lesion that I found on my cat the very next day? Because he didn't actually care to find the true condition of my cat, he just wanted to be right. Again, you might think I'm being ridiculous as a cat owner, but I have reasons for my concerns and I was completely dismissed when I was actually right the whole time. UPDATE: I replied to the email to explain the positive test result I received from my usual vet. Erin with Boston Animal Hospital called to ask about my visit. I explained that the test sample was taken from an area that was not an active lesion, and the vet declined to test the scab I brought in. She said she would speak with the lab to confirm if this could cause the results to come back negative. She called back and said this was the case, but the lab wouldn't issue a refund for the test. She apologized for my experience and offered a $150 refund for the visit fee and partial lab test. I added a star because I do think it's important to acknowledge when someone tries to make things right, so I appreciate that. I typically work with a vet who makes home visits. They found my kitten had tested positive for ringworm. I wanted to move quickly to test my adult cat so I decided to bring her in here instead. I explained the situation and asked for a test for ringworm. The vet looked where a recent scab had fallen off, but didn't check for other areas and declined to do a test. I insisted on a PCR test and even brought in the scab but they refused to test it. Instead, they only tested the area where the scab had fallen from. Of course it came back negative, but because they dismissed my concerns, I had my usual vet come back out to my home to run the test again, and now it is positive. I spent an hour and over $200 for this vet to tell me my cat didn't have ringworm, and delay treatment. Now I have to treat my kitten for an extra week while the adult cat's treatment runs its full course. I will never come back here again. They dismissed my concerns, wasted my time and money, and worst of all, caused a delay in getting treatment and relief for my cats.

Amazing vets and team - they personally own cats and it really shows in the incredible care they receive here. Emily especially is extremely empathetic to both the pets and owners - you'll be really lucky if you get her as your vet tech!
