Boston Veterinary Clinic was founded by Dr. Brian J. Bourquin in November 2012 as a mobile practice and has been serving Boston's pets since then. BVC opened its first location's doors in Bay Village/South End in 2014. Our veterinarians in Boston, MA offer the following veterinary services: Wellness exams, cat and dog vaccinations, spay, neuter, cat and dog teeth cleaning and more! In 2016, BVC was accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA). AAHA-accredited hospitals are recognized among the finest in the industry.

Dr. Joey and her staff are always so kind to me and most importantly to my cats. They make each appointment very quick and easy. I would recommend this team to anyone looking for a new vet! Dr. Joey and each one of her vet assistants are just wonderful. Grace and Diana have been so great and everyone at the front desk always welcomes you in with a smile. This team treats my pets like they are their own, and I’ll always be grateful for that!

We love Dr. Lauren! She's so kind and gentle with my cats. All the techs are welcoming and the environment is calm, which puts my cats, especially my Timmo, at ease. He's been to the vet a lot recently and I'm so glad we found Boston Veterinary Clinic. It's made his visits so much easier. We had a great visit today, but DyAnnah(I think that's how she spells her name) and Dr. Lauren were excellent! Timmo wasn't so keen about getting his blood drawn, but they handled it beautifully and even came back to the room to give him some more treats and snuggles, making sure he was ok.

I cannot express my gratitude for BVC enough! Working with Dr. Chelsea has brought my family calm and confidence in our pup's veterinary care, when we'd had very difficult experiences in the past. Dr. Chelsea and the BVC team are the most skilled, compassionate, and communicative veterinary team that I have ever encountered. I have so much respect and gratitude for every single staff member! Not only do I not recommend them I warn you to stay clear. The worst and most expensive veterinary clinic I have ever been to in my 40 years of dog ownership in several states and countries including rescue work in the tropics. You never get the same tech or vet twice so forget about establishing a rapport. Their biggest concern is obviously profit and will order unnecessary, expensive bloodwork and the low end of the teeth cleaning estimate was literally double than anywhere else plus they are big on diagnosing imaginary anxiety. If you have legitimate concerns about their approach you will be dismissed out of hand. I was told I obviously didn’t appreciate the “high level of medical care which is reflected by the high prices” as if every other vet everywhere is inferior and I have no clue about my own dog. It truly boggles the mind.

The staff was so warm, friendly, and attentive to my dog. They went out of their way to make her feel comfortable and safe, and were very communicative with me the whole time about what they were doing and why. The facilities are clean and cozy; I wish human hospitals were this warm! Cannot recommend BVC highly enough. Dr. Lauren is absolutely fantastic. She helped us with Milo, our cat, in his final days, and we are so happy we moved Bridgette to the clinic for her regular wellness visits. Dr. Lauren is the best!

I really contemplated writing this review but I feel that I must share this. My dog Ginny is a perfectly normal Irish Doodle. No temperament issues or reactive behavior. Boston Veterinary clinic insisted because she was a doodle she needed to be on anti-anxiety medicine to come for her visits. I willing followed for her first annual visit and gave half their recommended dose and she got her shots no problems. For her second annual visit then again insisted I give the dose so I decided to give the full dose. Ginny acted like any dog at the vet a little weirded out that some random person was grabbing her leg and the vet tech insisted she was super anxious and they could not perform the blood drawing. I told them she was fine and please to try again and they refused and said they would talk with the doctor and come up with a higher dose of medicines for her next visit. This left me feeling really unsettled. I called multiple other friends who have doodles and friends who have reactive dogs and they all said none of their vets require this. I called a different vet and they said unless the dog is clearly reactive we do not give them anxiety meds. I decided I take Ginny to a different vet and had a wonderful experience and they told me she did not have anxiety and yeah she didn’t love getting her paw grabbed but who would and they were able to get the blood drawn no problem. If you have a doodle I would be cautious using Boston Veterinary clinic and be weary they like to use anti anxiety medicine for visits and if you are like me and don’t feel comfortable giving your non anxious dog anxiety meds I would look else where for a vet. Also when I called to remove Ginny from the vet, no question of why I was was asked which only make me feel better about my decision to leave.
