I would give them 0 stars if I could. I put an application in for their services went through various steps with them and coordinated with the VA. I then get a letter denying me even though I meet ALL of the criteria. I was bewildered why I was denied and could not get anyone to call me back, answer the phone or return a simple email. "Serving those who keep us free" is supposedly what they standby however my experience with them says otherwise. Being left high and dry by someone who claims vets are "heroes" is just wrong, if you truly care about veterans and you're unable to help them; let them know why so they can try to fix something that's wrong and try and point them in the right direction so that they can actually get help. Be wary if you attempt to engage with them...

SOOOOO impressed with this organization! I am a volunteer puppy raiser, having raised for a different service dog organization many years ago. We are so happy with the professionalism, training, and purpose of MWAM, and are enjoying meeting the veterans and first responders who receive these dogs and hearing about the impact on their lives.

I have to agree with the review regarding their practices. First, Mutts with a Mission does not use shelter dogs as most other orgs that supply pups for veterans. Google search for more reputable ones. The founder of "Mutts" appears to have a number of breeder friends who, I suspect, she keeps in business. True about the fundraising. Over 3 million raised and org got 130K of it--while that is perfectly legal and the going percentage rate, it is not the most ethical way to solicit funds. Please do your due diligence when supporting non-profits. That is what I did when I stumbled upon, what I consider to be, a less than worthy organization for my support when researching this org.

Getting training through them is awesome. Having had prior obedience training, it was easy to grasp what they want us to know to handle their dogs. The staff are very patient with new handlers and give stuffing directions.

I can’t say enough good about MWAM! I have seen how these highly trained service dogs change the lives of their recipients. It is a wonderful organization and I fully support their mission!

Do NOT give to this charity. In 2019, $.94 of every $1.00 raised through mail, internet and email solicitations was pocketed by the 'Professional' fundraisers they hire (2019 Form 990, Schedule G). The fundraiser pocketed over $3 million that year alone. Just six cents of every dollar went toward the charity. I called and spoke with Brooke Corson, the executive director. She claimed no knowledge of this and said someone who handles their finances would call me. He never called. I called Charity Navigator to ask how Mutts could earn 4 stars and a 100 point rating given this. He said essentially that they (Charity Navigator) only look at the handling of funds internally, not those provided by 'outside' agencies. Another red flag, I've asked dozens of times in writing to be removed from their mailing list. They've never complied and I receive regular solicitations to this day.
