Description Established in 2014, Circle A Home for Horses is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of at-risk children and rescued equines through paired bonding, learning, and fellowship. We are a fully functioning equine rescue, saving horses from slaughter/abuse/inhumane treatment. After transporting these horses to our rescue located in Virginia Beach, VA, our incredible team of dedicated volunteers and staff begin the healing of the body, mind, and soul of these deserving animals. They work tirelessly alongside our equine veterinarians, farrier, and equine dentist to rehabilitate these horses to a healthy state so they can f find them forever homes.

I have worked with Circle A for 4 years now. It’s been a constant in my life, that has given me so much joy a for a long while, a reason to get out of bed. The good that Circle A has done for the community is amazing as well, so many children has been positively affected by the therapy horses.

I absolutely LOVE this ranch. I started volunteering October of 2023, Ive been able to learn so much about horsemanship and medical checks, grooming, etc. I had very minimal experience with horses prior to finding circle A. Now i feel very confident working with horses. This place is amazing, the people are phenomenal. To take a horse in need of love and care and see its true spirit restored is priceless. Each horse receives expert care and dedication from staff and volunteers. I have been with Circle A for many years and I would not trade one minute of being a part of the rehabilitation and the mission of the rescue. Circle A is also dedicated to helping youth in need by providing professional therapy through experiences with the horses. The results are so heartwarming as you see the smiles it brings to their faces. Circle A Rescue Home for Horses is a special place for horses, youth, volunteers, and staff. Circle A Home for horses is such an amazing place! I have been lucky to volunteer there for a couple of years and just cannot say enough good things about it. The horses are provided top notch care from a compassionate team of staff members and trained volunteers. Circle A provides extensive training and learning opportunities for the staff and volunteers to be sure everyone is able to contribute to the provision of that top notch care. The horses are provided quality veterinary and farrier services as well as dietary programs to address their individual needs. It is just such a gift to see these horses come into Circle A, often in terrible shape and to watch the transformation of their mind, body and spirit into the beautiful equines they are meant to be. As if that is not enough,, they also provide equine therapy programs for at risk youth. I could not recommend this rescue more!!!!

I Love the fact that we have a local facility Circle A Home for Horses truly cares about these magnificent animals. That continues to rescue horses, providing them a santuary while being nurtured, loved and cared for by professional staff, veteranarians, farriers and wonderful volunteers. As a volunteer, we go through a complete training process. Even the adoption process is set up in such a way, it protects the horse for life. These horses, all unique, get the love and attention they need. And I am happy that I get to be a part of this as a volunteer.

Circle A is on a great mission to rescue horses off the race track and from kill pins. They work hard to show the horses love and to rehabilitate them, so they can find their forever home. I adopted 3 amazing horses from them and now call Circle A family. If you are looking for a place to adopt from or just volunteer your time this is the best place.
