I adopted my doggy here. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They made the process very easy from start to finish. Please come here and adopt your next pet!!! 😀😀
My boyfriend and I recently adopted two cats from this shelter. We had never been to a shelter before so this was definitely an eye opening experience for us both. The people here are so beyond kind. Everyone is there because they genuinely love and care about animals and it’s really very beautiful. Coming to a shelter can be a sad experience but the people who work here definitely make it better. The volunteers who helped us were all so kind and so excited for the animals to get a home. I will definitely look into volunteering here some day. The employees explain the adoption process very well and will even follow up to make sure things are going well. Our kittens were fixed, given shots, and treated with frontline all for free thanks to this amazing organization. The people who put in countless hours of time here truly deserve the world. Post-op from being fixed, we noticed our one kitten had a limp shortly after anesthesia wore off. We took him back to get checked up and that’s when we met Dr. Woodie. I can’t say enough good things about her. She’s kind, patient, sweet, and explained things thoroughly. You can tell she genuinely cares about animals and she’s a wonderful lady. I wish she was our full time vet. Overall this organization does amazing things for the community and I couldn’t recommend this place enough for finding your next fur baby.
This is where I found my fur baby Bubba! The adoption prices are high but it all goes to the shelter to be able to keep their animals healthy & adoptable! I was blessed because the day after i found my dog they had a special the next day! Also u get all the animals records of their stay there!
I adopted my two favorite babies from here over 15 years ago. They were the best and I loved them until the bitter end. Thank you!
We adopted a dog that was abandoned by it's "human". Just let go to roam the streets, not caring what happened to her. The dog is about 11 yrs old, and the owner told the animal control officer that her mom didn't want the dog anymore. There was no way we were letting this sweet dog stay in a shelter. She is now in Chicago with my niece living out the rest of her life as a Princess. She's got a blingy pink collar, a pink leash, and her own pink doggy chair. The shelter was clean and accommodating. I didn't go into the area where they held the dogs otherwise I'd be the owner of 250 dogs. I would recommend adopting over buying from a breeder. These babies need to finally feel what love is. If you're not ready for the responsibility, don't get an animal. They are not disposable. I wish the state would press charges on the previous owner since she admitted to just letting the dog go.
They could not have been more helpful adopting a dog. Stacy, Emily, and Heather were all wonderful. First, I filled out the paperwork. I went towards fostering, with the total intent to adopt my new family member. If you're going to adopt, remember, There are different stages. That's why I recommend fostering a dog to help out the shelter and get to know your new buddy. I'm on my 5th pittie adoption in my life, and each one requires different degrees of patience and time. They all turned out amazing! Clearly, Some dogs adopt quicker than others. They're basically coming out of a very stressful situation. So be patient with them and yourself. With that, you might just find yourself with a new life partner that brings you more joy than you can imagine for a long time to come.
