Description Destiny for Dogs is a 501(c)(3) Non Profit Rescue dedicated to assisting senior citizens in keeping their beloved pets in their homes. Destiny assists qualified seniors with pet food, monthly heartworm/flea preventive, annual wellness visits to our veterinarians, plus the rehoming of their beloved pets if necessary. Destiny is a non-breed specific, small, foster based, no-kill rescue. We are all volunteers and have no paid employees. Destiny is active in rescuing dogs from shelters, owners, or families who can no longer care for their deceased family members’s pet. Our goal is to find loving forever homes for rescue dogs regardless of age, health, or corrective behavioral issues. All Destiny’s dogs are fully vetted prior to adoption.

I absolutely love this rescue!! I became involved when a pup was dumped at the canal and they became his rescue. Joann worked tirelessly to help us to help (peanut) find a forever home. We fostered him for 3 months and this dog rescue was a dream come true. I miss peanut everyday but I know he is in a great home!!!

We found ourselves in a situation that no one wants to be in. My 94 year old mom has a 14 year old dog that she adores. But she has fallen 3 times in a short period of time trying to take care of the dog. This is even with aides in the apartment keeping an eye on her. This last time she fractured her elbow. And she had fed the dog a Twix ice cream bar that resulted in colitis and the dog having to be cared for at the vets. Along with her social worker and physician, the family realized that she was no longer able to keep the dog. And if a family member could take her that wouldn’t work because every time she would see her, she would want her back. I reached out to Jo Ann at Destiny for Dogs. She returned my call quickly and set out to find our Shana the right home. It only took 2 days. The care and support that I have received from Jo Ann is priceless. She helped to make an upsetting situation manageable. I can’t thank her enough.

The most wonderful people in the world! Our experience with JoAnn, in particular, was great, she has the BIGGEST heart. If you are looking for a rescue organization in South Florida please prioritize Destiny for Dogs. You won’t regret it. THE MOST AMAZING!

I am currently going through the process of helping my neighbor rehome her dog. I already have two sweet pups and unfortunately cannot care for another dog in my apartment. I’ve found how grueling it can be to find a rescue to provide this puppy with the medical attention he needs, who has room for boarding and access and a following of potential forever parents looking to adopt, but JoAnn has been the light guiding me. Truly, she has consulted me on options, providing resources and contacts to reach out to. She has been consistent and thoughtful in her communications. She genuinely cares for animals and those who do right by them. This is an incredible organization, with attentive and trustworthy people. I’m forever grateful to JoAnn and Destiny for Dogs for helping me navigate this process in finding this sweet dog a new home.

What a wonderful rescue organization! Destiny for Dogs and JoAnn have a unique knack of making sure each dog is placed in the home that is just right for them. In addition, her superb foster families make sure that the new family has all the information they need to make a smooth and happy transition for each dog. We have adopted two wonderful dogs from this organization over the years and could not be happier. JoAnn is always willing to follow up and offer advice or support for all her rescued dogs. Her concern, kindness and compassion for all animals is clearly evident in all she does. We are forever grateful that both our dogs were saved from their unfortunate circumstances by Destiny for Dogs and that JoAnn recognized their true characteristics so that they could be offered a forever home.

As a previous foster mom for Destiny For Dogs I feel I have an even better insight than most to the care and love that JoAnn and Kenny put in. Not only are they the kindest people, but they would do anything in their power to help these sweet angels. Their home is filled with all types of animals as pets and they lovingly foster their own rescues as well. I have kept three of my fosters from Destiny, my mom, her friend and my neighbor all adopted through Destiny and cannot say enough good things about their experiences and how wonderful the rescue is.
