I have been working with CPT Dog Training since 2020. Since then, I have been working with Chrissy (The trainer located in Eugene) for all of my dogs' training. Chrissy carefully assesses each dog and helps create a personalized training plan in a very collaborative process with the handler/dog owner. I've seen numerous trainers over the years, and have had mostly bad to poor experiences with each of them (which created futher issues with my past SD Jada), but I have nothing but good things to say about CPT and Chrissy as a trainer. It's very hard to find excellent dog training, and without a doubt this company is my go to suggestion for anyone looking for dog training, or service dog training. Not only is Chrissy excellent with the dogs herself, but her extensive knowledge has aided me in becoming a better handler and trainer for my own dogs. My relationship with my dogs and confidence as a handler has improved greatly (and this is such an overlooked aspect of training, but it is probably one of the most important in my opinion). Chrissy is very flexible and communicative with scheduling, answering questions, and planning training lessons. I could ask a simple question and she will answer with a lengthy imformative answer, which is always helpful. She's very supportive as a trainer, but most importantly prioritzes the dogs' and handlers comfort/happiness during the training process. She is always there to help. Not only will your dog learn how to behave, respond, and work through potential behavioral issues, but you (as the handler) will also learn how to effectivly communicate with your dog, continue training on your own, and maintain training progress for the duration of your dogs life. I highly reccomend this company, and I highly reccomend Chrissy as a trainer. I'm so excited to watch my SDIT, Roo, grow and learn with the help of CPT along the way, so that in the future she can successfully perform her duties as my service dog. Working with Chrissy, I am confident that she has been set up for success.

I adopted Frankie when she was 6 months old. She had been adopted by another family and things did not go as planned. After several different training classes, we found Chrissy. Chrissy came to meet Frankie, and with her help, we identified some key core competencies that Frankie was missing. Frankie went through the board and train program with Chrissy. Chrissy was clear about how to make the program work for Frankie and me. She was thorough, professional and clear about what to expect with this initial board and train period. Fast forward to picking Frankie up and bringing her home. Frankie's re-entry into the home has been remarkable. Chrissy taught me an effective way to communicate with Frankie calmly and yet firmly. Frankie seems much more confident knowing what is expected of her and knowing which behaviors will not be tolerated. Chrissy taught me techniques and commands I can use so that both Frankie and I can have a mutually enjoyable life together. What felt like hopelessness now feels like peace! I am confident that moving forward Frankie and I will continue to work on training to insure we both have the best owner/pet relationship possible. I highly recommend Chrissy to help you with your training. Your dog will thank you. Thanks Chrissy!

100% recommend! Chrissy is a miracle worker! My 5 year old rescue Cairn had been removed from a terribly abusive situation. Even though I'm an experienced dog owner, Ivan's problems were beyond my ability to manage. Chrissy worked with him for several weeks and he gradually became a calm, well-mannered member of the family. She worked with me so I learned how to avoid things that triggered him. I can never thank her enough!

I enrolled my 14 week old puppy in Chrissy’s board train program. She exceeded all of my expectations. During the drop off we discussed a wish list of items that I wanted to address. When I returned two weeks later my puppy excelled in every category. My dog looks up to Chrissy and you can tell there exists a genuine bond between her and my pet. Chrissy’s home is ideal for a board train. Her yard is spacious and secure. The interior is clean and comfortable with plenty of activities for mental stimulation. She provides updates and videos with progress throughout the week. Chrissy also explains the techniques to the owner when you pick up your pet. This individual training helped us continue to make progress back at home. When I need to travel for work I can rest easy knowing that Chrissy provides boarding. We look forward to working with CPT in the future.

If I could give more than 5 stars I would because I can’t recommend CPT enough. My 14-week-old puppy spent 6 weeks with CPT trainer, Chrissy, in Eugene, Oregon and the experience was beyond fabulous for me and for “Tommy”. I was very apprehensive about putting my sweet puppy in someone else’s care to begin with and because the typical model for boarding/training is one where the dogs are housed in an out-building in dog run/kennels except when actively training one-on-one or having play time in the yard, I knew I needed to find a better alternative for my puppy who wasn’t 100% potty trained for one thing and I think young puppies just need more time and attention. What sets CPT apart in the boarding/training world is that your dog will live IN THE HOME with the trainer, their pets, and family and routine. So not only is your dog getting one-on-one training time, but they’re also really getting 24/7 training in how to be a well-mannered house guest. Chrissy only takes 2 boarding/training clients at a time and takes care in selecting clients for compatibility to ensure success all around. She and all the CPT trainers are highly skilled and trained in all manner of dog training not just basic obedience and use only positive, reward-based training methods. When I picked up Tommy, I was met by a happy, attentive, smart puppy, with nice manners that exceeded what I thought could be accomplished at his young age. I’m a better dog mom and Tommy is a happy, easy to be around dog after our experience with Chrissy and CPT. It’s some of the best money I’ve ever spent!!

Edit: It is now clear by the very condescending reply that I made the right choice. Would you leave your pet in the hands of someone that responds to criticism in the way this business has? I understand now this facility is not equipped to handle excitable/reactive dogs who can get over 4ft chain link fences. I have no problem with grasping why the form is important and I understand the risks of aggressive/escape dog behavior. I was suggesting to disclaim your limitations on the website. I have opted to take my dog to back to my hometown and spend my money at a place working with trainers that are actually equipped to work with more challenging dog behaviors. An in-home board and train that works with potentially reactive dogs in a 24/7 structured, safe environment WHILE prioritizing safety of their own cats and dogs too - with a 6 foot privacy fence. It is actually possible and too bad this business can not offer that but ALSO deems me unable to comprehend these things. I thought that was the main appeal to in-home boarding, the potential to help reactive dogs in a safe and secure environment 24/7? 0 stars if I could based on how their management responds to criticism this way. It was not my intent to complain about the time it took to fill the form out, rather the black and white generalized response that truly did sound automated. Original review: they do not offer board and train if your dog has an escape history and their behavior is unknown with new animals. It would help to be stated clearly on their website the restrictions they have for board and trains, before having people spend time filling out the form only to get an automated response that they essentially can’t be helped.
