Description Little Critter Crew is a foster based small animal rescue in Eugene, OR. We specialize in sugar gliders, chinchillas, rats, mice, gerbils, degus, hamsters, hedgehogs, bunnies and other small furry exotics. We are a 501c3 non-profit and licensed with the state’s ARE program. Our goal is to educate on the biggest problems we face...misinformation, the view that small animals are disposable and overbreeding. Little Critter Crew is volunteer run, we are average people opening our homes to help animals who have been surrendered, abandoned or mistreated. We rescue, rehabilitate, provide vet care, sanctuary and find forever homes for small furred exotics in the PNW.
I adopted Norbert the hamster a couple of months ago and I wanted to leave a review because the adoption process was very seamless and I LOVE my hamster. They do their due diligence in making sure that you have a proper setup for the animals UNLIKE a Pet Smart. They really care about these little critters and they want them to have a good home! Adopt don't shop!
I am continuously impressed by the dedication Little Critter Crew has for rescuing the smallest of animals. But even beyond that, I am love their mission to educate and assist others on the proper treatment and care of small animals. The hard work they do all across our state is incredible. A network of behind the scenes volunteers makes it all possible, it is not an easy or uncomplicated task to do so, but they run the ship smoothly. I have been a foster home with LCC for 9 months now, and watched them care tirelessly for countless animals in dire need (sick, injured, neglected, abandoned, or just unwanted). Rehabilitating those that can be (and providing sanctuary to those that can’t) and rehoming them with adopters who are carefully matched to ensure the animals are a good fit for all. They are an ethical and wonderful nonprofit organization that I am happy to support and encourage others to do the same!
I have volunteered as a foster and have adopted many animals from the Little Critter Crew. I have never worked with such a fine crew before in my life and I have worked with animal rescue for many years. They are thorough, deeply caring, they give it their all and they are highly functional. They make it clear that sometimes things take time in this world. The educational work they provide is excellent and they so often go the extra miles to help little animals in distress. For a group to take on such overlooked and undervalued beings is hard and deep work. Their commitment to honor such tiny creatures with top-notch rescue and care says a lot about how honorable they are.
I adopted a rat from here, and the process was simple, but thorough. I appreciate how much information they asked from me, because it shows they really care about their animals' well-being, and will only release them to homes that are thoroughly screened. I live in Portland, and they even delivered my new family member straight to my door. If you don't have the commitment for a pet, consider fostering. They are a foster-based shelter, so there always is a need. They are very easy to get a hold of, but note that Sundays are their self-care days, so they will not answer any messages. Their Instagram @littlecrittercrew is updated daily, so that's a great place to keep up with news and adoptable pets.
I have worked with this rescue for a few months as a foster for a rabbit. The crew and volunteers are amazing and truly care about every single animal! If you are interested in adopting or fostering, I would highly recommend them!
This rescue is amazing. I fell in love (from afar) with a bunny they had and from the moment I contacted them about her, they were extremely helpful, kind, knowledgeable and accommodating. Once approved, one of their wonderful volunteers drove for HOURS to meet me so I could bring that bunny home. They were thorough in their process and offered guidance when I had questions. The time, effort, money and love they pour into each of these animals is outstanding. I had such a great experience that my mom chose to adopt from them as well! And that same volunteer did another long trip on her own time to meet up with me again. Way to go, LCC! You make a huge difference each and every day in the lives of these animals and in the lives of the families they go to.
