Everyone was extremely helpful and kind when I was adopting my new friend Sophie. They were very intentional and made sure she was placed in the right home and I am so lucky it was with me! They made sure to share everything they could about her and were upfront, honest, and flexible with her needs which I believe helped her transition well. They provide exceptional support even after adoption and I know they will always be there if I ever need anything.

I've had a very mixed experience with this Humane Society. A few years back I had to surrender my dog due to ongoing medical issues that doctors couldn't stop. Due to this I didn't have the energy to properly take care of my dog anymore. They were kind, between me changing my mind. To ultimately surrendering my dog. They called me to let me know my dog had been adopted by a worker's family member. Which brought me immense relief, knowing he wasn't stuck in the shelter for long. But on the other hand, my adoptions from them have been a lot rougher. Between adopting a cat with huge behavioral issues that they couldn't help with. To returning a dog I had adopted who ended up having separation anxiety I could not solve. My bigger issue was with the dog I adopted. I called for help, as they say you can. I was met with no return calls, hanging up on hold, and finally received a call back only when I complained. It was heartbreaking as I loved this dog, I just didn't know how to help with the separation anxiety. Upon returning this dog, I also felt I was met with rude interruptions when speaking. Along with not being listened to. Followed by the worker saying they would call me when she was adopted. Just to see her leave the adoption page and never get a call. Along with separation anxiety never being mentioned in the new bio, which I thought was dishonest. I hope to have better experiences with them in the future.

I got my two baby kittens sanji and law they are so sweet. The staff is amazing sara was wonderful and helped with the whole process. They baby's were neutered and up to date on shots well taken care of and happy. They have so many amazing pets looking for their forever homes too. Thank you so much for everything and bringing my new babies onto my life

I had a great experience adopting my ESA cat, Claire! I’ve been in to the shelter multiple times before, just to pet the cats and give them some love, and the environment has always been very clean and calm for the cats, and they’re well taken care of. So when it was time to adopt my own, I knew I would be adopting from here. The process was very quick, and I was given all the records and information I would need for the future. And I know that if I were to need any help, I could reach out to them.

We had a great experience. We went in to look at one dog, ended up meeting 5 different dogs, got to walk the ones we were considering, and then were able to put a 24-hour hold on the one we were most interested in 'to sleep on it.' Staff was very helpful, knowledgeable, and patient during this process. Next day we went in to adopt our new pup! We waited a little bit as it was a busy day of adoption and got to interact with some really sweet people soooo excited about getting their new pets - definitely brought happy tears. And we went home and have been so happy with our new family member. I've adopted my 2 cats, my recently passed dog, and now this pup from HSWM, and each has been a dream of a sweet animal. Rescue all the way, baby!
