I cannot say enough good things about their exotics department. My rabbit went here his whole life. They helped him through EC and GI Stasis and they managed to extend his life at the end through dental surgery. They have always been so transparent and helpful when it comes to pricing. Their doctors and everyone there are so kind and supportive. You can see they truly care about every single animal they help. When it came time to finally say goodbye to my boy, they were nothing but amazing. One of his veterinarians even called on her off day to talk me through the decision. The procedure was so peaceful, I greatly appreciated the privacy with him at the end. I was amazed when I not only got a sympathy card in the mail after, but it was personally signed by each and every one of the vets that treated him (and they each wrote a personal message). It truly warmed my heart to know they care so much about their patients. If I ever have another exotic pet, I will 100% use them.

I love Pender! They are a little bit pricey but they always take care of our dog! He’s never nervous there and they give him so much love! We’ve been using them for about two years now and will continue to use them as long as we’re close. I think they’re worth every penny.

Dr Jones is amazing! I was so impressed by the qualifications she has. Not just a vet , she’s a cardiologist specialist for animals. My sweet 13 year old dog Sophie was treated by Dr.Jones because she had a heart murmur she was born with. Other veterinarians didn’t take the time or were too busy moving to the next patient because they were so overcrowded, and I felt shoved out the door before I could even ask my questions, so I never found out exactly what she was treated for, and if they even looked at The problem she was therefore so I was referred to Pender Vet and I didn’t even request a cardiologist veterinarian but they could see her records on file online and we met Dr Jones and I am finally felt like we found the right person and the right place to bring our pets There was no pushing us out the door at Pender Vet they were patient took their time and the patient came first and the customer was their first priority and only priority while you were being treated by them. Awesome place to bring your animals. I was very impressed.

Best vets ever. Have saved my bunny’s life on at least two occasions. They listen and are proactive when I ask about preventative care for my aging bun. Very grateful for them. From techs to doctors, all amazing.

I have a 3lb rabbit that occasionally gets eye infections. Pender Veterinary Center in Fairfax has an excellent Exotics department that takes care of all his needs. They even gave me a demonstration of how to catch and wrap him up safe to administer the medication which was a huge help at home. But our first experience with Pender Fairfax was in the Cat/Dog department, over 5 years ago with help caring for my 13 y/o lab. I was only in the area for the last year of her life, but they helped make it as pain free as possible. As long as I live here with animals, Pender will be my vet!

This place is wonderful. I have two parakeets and a cockatiel, and their exotics department is great. We have had emergencies, general appointments, and tech appointments with them, and they have given us the best care through everything. We live in Maryland and it is an hour drive at best both ways. What they have done for us has been worth the drive - even in an emergency situation. Whenever we go, it feels like we are actually talking to experts unlike a lot of other vets we have gone to. They have helped us get our birds on better schedules, with better diets, and I believe they have helped us prolong their lives. I can't have anything better to say about them.
