Communication was great and friendly. The rescue ensured my new pup was examined by a vet and vaccinated. You can tell they are passionate about what they do. They matched me with the perfect dog for my family and we are very pleased. People have commented about their adoption fee, but it is definitely worth it. They put a lot of money into their dogs and don't hesitate to get the dogs medical attention.

Awful experience. They will get your hopes up saying you are the family they have chosen for adoption and then you will be unfairly judged after being 100% honest. We have a small dog currently which was apparently a concern for us to adopt, so we welcomed the person from this rescue into our home after they requested to instead of meeting in a public place. The woman was not very friendly and observed our small dog for all of 5 minutes. Our dog did not bark once or show any signs of aggression yet this lady seems to think a small dog growling a little bit at a large dog when being sniffed in their own territory equals “too aggressive” to be trusted despite living with large dogs before and never having a single act of aggression in her 9 years of life. The communication was terrible and left us heartbroken after having to tell our son that the new dog who didn’t have a home was not going to be part of our family after all. Honestly makes me wonder if this lady just didn’t like us and used that as an excuse, especially considering her demeanor changed once she met my husband who happens to be not white and not from this country.

The ladies that run this rescue are so genuine and kind hearted. They genuinely care about the animals and do their best with limited resources. Rescue is all volunteer so they donate their time and money.

We are foster parents and have recently adopted our foster baby, Ollie. He came to us in a bit of an emergency situation and was timid, scared, and in pretty rough shape. He is now thriving and happy and living the life he was always supposed to with his big brother. They have also requested a sister so that’ll be the next step with APR 😁 Kudos to the rescue for the effort and time they put into helping these dogs. As a foster I was more than happy to pay the rescue fee as I know the money will be put back into dogs that need it. If there is any doubt about the intentions of this rescue, we have living proof that second chances exist and APR is providing that chance. Thanks for all you do!!

I’ve fostered with several organizations. Az Poodle Rescue is exceptional at caring for their fosters. Timely vet care and grooming. No pressure adoptions with accurate information on each dog. Highly recommend.

I have adopted 3 dogs from this rescue over the past 12 years and could not be more pleased. The comments from other individuals regarding money have either never seen the cost of what the pound charges for an adoption or have never checked the cost of taking a dog to the vet. I have zero complaints after looking at breeders of standard poodles who charge $2500 for a dog and you’re put on a waitlist. My dogs came vet checked, vaccinated and neutered, as well as knowing the background and any behavioral issues. The last dog I adopted a year ago now visits hospice, the VA Hospital and Phoenix Children’s Hospital. They are an all volunteer rescue so perhaps why their response time could be longer. I am a native Arizonan and have dealt with numerous dog rescues throughout the years. Hands down this rescue is the most ethical and responsible rescue I have encountered. Prior to COVID they held an annual poodle romp with former adopters and their dogs. Well over 100 poodles and other breeds were running around playing at the last event. That pretty much sums up people’s experience with Arizona Poodle Rescue including my own.
