Very caring people came to help with stray dog at workplace. Responded when no one else could and got dog help she desperately needed! So grateful and will definitely be giving back with donations- can’t lose a gem like this!

Lots of people leaving bad reviews that don’t help the dogs in ANY way and even tiktoks posting slander and lies about this place. But I love these dogs and each one is adoptable and worth living. We run not mostly on a small staff and volunteers. Lots of things are in need of update but all dogs need a home and it’s sad to see a dog community be so hateful to a rescue that literally saves dogs daily. ABC has the best dogs and Id take them all home if I could!! I love working here just because I get to love on dogs all day and dogs are so much better than people! Adopt don’t shop! SPAY AND NEUTER! ♥️

I cannot speak highly enough of the volunteers from ABC Shelter. A personal connection of mine sadly was given an abandoned dog last week who ended up being pregnant. As she was actively giving birth, this family decided they now longer could care for the animal. This dog was also having medical complications and we believed she needed emergency surgery. Of course these things always happen after hours on weekends! I worked with volunteers to not only make a plan to pick up the dog, transport her to the vet to be checked out, but then make space for her and her puppies at the shelter in the middle of the night. As you can imagine, she was extremely fearful and stressed out and the volunteers have patiently and lovingly worked with her day in and day out to provide care and compassion. What once was a dog who snapped, growled and barked at any passerby is now a gentle dog who falls asleep as you pet her. ABC is currently working to find her a foster to provide her a quiet and private place to raise her pups.

I am beyond excited I stumbled upon the Animal Benefits Club (ABC)! I had to put my 19-year-old Jack Russel down and was ready to welcome a new best friend into my home. I happened to come across a photo of a little guy named Fritz and I knew the moment I saw the picture; this would be my new little buddy. When I clicked on the picture it directed me to the ABC site. From doing my research, I came to realize that ABC is not one of those shelters that just hands dogs over to anyone asking. They take their time to ensure their dogs are being placed into the right environment for each dogs individual needs. This is a positive in my books because the last thing any dog lover would want is for someone to bring a new pet into their home only to have it returned back into a shelter because it wasn’t a fit. Kudos ABC! I followed the instructions and took my time to really fill out the application truthfully and from my heart. Since the majority of ABC’s workforce is made up of volunteers, I noticed the disclaimer that they would reach out to me only if I was a match. I anxiously waited hoping I’d be a match for Fritz and was SO EXCITED when the Director of the facility called me. During the call, I was made aware that Fritz had a rough start to his life and had been in the shelter for quite some time because, lets just say he wasn’t one for great first impressions. During my conversation I was also made aware that Fritz would need a little “extra” love and time patience if I was approved. I really respected the truthfulness and time I was given so that I was truly aware of Frit’s situation and that they took the time to be certain if I was a good fit or not. As I previously mentioned, I had that intuition that Fritz was meant to be part of my family, so I wasn’t frightened away by the phone conversation and made my appointment to meet Fritz face to face. When I arrived, I was once again reminded that Fritz more than likely will bark and not be very welcoming to me being on his turf. I let them know I was ready for the challenge and couldn’t wait to meet him. As it was explained, Fritz did not want anything to do with me but after time passed, he calmed down and gave my hand a little lick. The staff member (who was extremely sweet) literally had a tear in her eye and told me I was the first person (other than staff) he had ever done that to. I immediately said, “I’ll take him”! There was one more step that needed to be completed and that was a home visit which I was pleased to have passed. As the great folks at ABC let me know, it did take extra love to get Fritz out of his shell and to feel comfortable in his new way of life; as he was basically a feral dog and had never had a home. Things moved along in a positive way quickly and I have the greatest best friend ever! THANK YOU ABC for providing so much love to my home and for taking the extra work and time to ensure your animals are placed in the right homes. Much respect!!!!

Everyone complaining about how they weren't considered to adopt these wonderful animals must've been writing some VERY alarming things in their applications because we were accepted immediately to visit these beautiful potential pets! We were able to get in contact immediately and see all of their cats day of application acceptance. We fell in love with two of their babies, Chowder and Cobalt, and ended up adopting them to live with us in our forever home. This rescue takes such amazing care of their animals, and really cares about where they get adopted to, and I don't blame them. These animals deserve the best of the best, and I'm honored that we were given the chance to give these animals the best. Thank you ABC for everything you do. ADOPT, DON'T SHOP! I want to give a big shout out to Mary Kaye who was my main contact and also the one to introduce me to all these beautiful kitties. She was incredibly helpful in informing me about their personalities, all positives and negatives, and helping guide me in adopting the right feline companions for our home.

Like others, I certainly read some bad reviews before I submitted an application, but I fell in love with one of the cats on the website and decided it was worth the risk! To my delight, I received a call within 24 hours of emailing the questionnaire and was then asked some basic additional questions. I was able to schedule a visit to the shelter that upcoming weekend to see Jackson (aka Jude). While there, I was allowed to visit with other cats and filled in on details about their personalities. Volunteer Mary-Kaye has been there for years and she was amazing!! She was incredibly friendly and went out of her way to make adopting a positive experience. She even went above and beyond when Jackson was still having minor health issues to set up another vet visit post-adoption, which ABC covered. Her and the Director later came to my house to administer a final vaccine to Jackson. Finally, Jackson turned out to be super-clingy and really needed a friend (our dog was not particularly interested in being BFFs), so we ended up adopting one of Jackson's babies. We were able to keep Bella on a temporary trial basis at first to make sure the 3-pet household would work for everyone. It ended up being a great solution. I felt like they really cared about finding a good fit for both the owners and the animals. would definitely recommend adopting through Mary-Kaye at ABC!
