The condition the puppies are kept in will make your stomach churn. Kennels stacked on top of each other. No clean water, bowls, towels etc. Puppies sit in their own filth. Filth that seeps down to the kennels below them as they are stacked on each other. The dogs in this rescue deserve so much better. This is not a rescue. PuppyLuv has removed reviews from their Facebook and Google Business page. They are removing any "negative" comments as well. If a rescue doesn't have the capabilities to care for the lives in their care, stop taking more dogs. Many reputable rescues stop intake when they have to because they know their limits. No reputable rescue does this.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Puppy Love Rescue. We recently adopted a puppy from them for $450, only to be met with a series of distressing issues. From the moment we received the puppy, he smelled overwhelmingly bad, and was absolutely covered in fleas, which was alarming. The unpleasant odor extended to the shelter itself, raising serious concerns about the conditions in which the animals are kept, not to mention then knowing very little about the dogs they have. To make matters worse, after just a few days, our new puppy began coughing incessantly. A visit to the vet revealed he had pneumonia. We attempted to reach out to the shelter for assistance under their 14-day health clause, but our calls and messages have gone unanswered. This lack of response is both unprofessional and unacceptable. It seems clear that the well-being of the animals is not a priority here. I strongly advise against adopting from this shelter.

Disgusting. Demented. Inhumane treatment of these poor animals. Left for weeks at a time to sit, sleep, and eat in their own feces. Christina Holmes was an acquaintance of mine from many years ago and, up until this evening, remained a friend on FB. She would reach out, unsolicited, to me whenever I posted something negative about PuppyLuv and would deny these conditions. This has gone on for YEARS! I am so disturbed to see that this is how she has treated (or allowed/enabled) these poor animals to suffer. I have personal friends who recently adopted (in the last year) from Puppy Luv Phx as well, and their poor puppies were picked up from terrible homes full of filth, 30-50 dogs in kennels, stacked in the backyard in the summer when it was 116 out (one foster was in Sunnyslope I believe and the foster's supposed name was "Layla"?) My friends Puppy was adopted and she took her the vet and she had Giardia. No response from the foster or PuppyLuv. This place is despicable. Please stay away from anything to do with them. And pray for all the innocent souls still in their possession... and for the hundreds (if not thousands) of sweet babies that have passed in their "care." 4 days prior to Fox10 investigation crew coming out, the owners/manager of PuppyLuv Phx called in reinforcements from their other valley locations (for sure from Mesa) to help clean up the facility, kennels, etc. They had FOUR DAYS to clean it and it was STILL deemed unacceptable by Arizona Humane Society on Monday the 14th. Imagine the filth. There is an insurmountable amount of photographic and text/message thread evidence to support these claims. Search FB "Puppy Luv" > Posts and check out all the photos, screenshots from messages between PL employees. And PLEASE leave a review of you have EVER adopted from here and had a similar experience. Please file a fprmal complaint with the Attorney General and Arizona Humane Society. This is NOT okay and we CANNOT continue to enable them to keep doing this.

My husband and I adopted a puppy from them early May. The online post I found him on states he was neutered and around 4 months old. When we got to the adoption agency (Bell rd location) to meet the foster we had then found out he wasn’t neutered. (All paperwork we were given stated he was). After about a week I received a text from Gwen asking me when I was going to get him fixed and gave me a few times. When I told her we couldn’t make those times she stated it would be on us to get it done then (weird cuz it was a part of the adoption fee?) When we took him to their vet to get neutered (North Phoenix Animal Clinic) there were at least 30 other dogs waiting to be taken back. They had zero clue who was what dog or what agency they were even with. It was a MAD house. When we picked up our puppy from the vet we then learned that the vet didn’t do the microchipping or provide him with his pain medication. That I would then need to take him further away to their new location (Cactus Dr.) to obtain these. My dog just had surgery and now he has to be in the car LONGER? This location was disgusting. Dogs were running around in their own feces and other dogs locked in kennels/cages way too small for them. It smelled horrendous and they had only been at this location for 2-3 weeks? After flipping through his paperwork later I realized how none of it made sense. He came from the Rez but paperwork stated he received his shots before they even received him? The paperwork also put him at 4 weeks old all when he “received” all his vaccines? I ended up needing to reach out to Gwen to get help for rehoming or surrendering of my dog. She dodged every single text. Other rescues even reached out to her for me because she wasn’t responding. She ignored them as well. I found my puppy the most amazing home on my own thankfully but Gwen had zero cares about the human or the dog in my instance.

Hope A

Place is FILTHY!!! Dogs stacked on top of each other in kennels! Reeks of poop and urine!! Dogs had fleas on them! All the dogs were coughing! Someone came back and said their puppy had PARVO! Desk lady pulls out some pills and said here give these to the dog! She couldn't even say what they were! What kind of a place is this! County is cleaner and gives pills by a VETERINARIAN!!!
