My son and I came in looking for a kitten, the 2 wonderful women that helped us gave us their undivided attention and walked us through several introductions! After a short conversation about what we were looking for one of the girls came back with a tiny little black kitten that in a few short days has stolen our hearts and we couldn’t be happier!!! Thank you so much
We went there to visit a rescue dog. Otto was so sweet but kinda shy and scared. Id love to give him a forever home but am not sure the owner of our house will get on board with it. But the place and staff was so kind and their love of animals shined bright. I'll be back guys.
Great shelter, amazing staff. But somethings has to be changed about the situation in there. We are partners and most of the time the dogs don’t get full attention about being vaccinated before they get transferred to the rescues. We have to do everything on our own when they are supported by the government and we are not! The directors have to be on top of the problems that has been happened in our shelter.
At the moment, this is the best place where I was looking for a new family member. The adoption procedure is very fast and free (I was surprised). A pet that is ready to go to the family has already been vaccinated, sterilized, microchipped and you will have 14 days for a free visit to the veterinarian (3 places) They also have little kittens and puppies for foster care.
My family and I volunteered through their Broward Buddy program. We got to take a wonderful dog named Luke out with us for the afternoon. Luke is up for adoption. He's great with children and sat calmly while we went out for lunch. This is a wonderful program that provides shelter dogs with a chance to enjoy a different environment for a while. I highly recommend volunteering for this program.
My puppy ran away from my house on Thursday night, my husband and 3 little kids spent the night looking for her, I went to my neighbors app and posted begging for help. Thanks to the generosity of my neighbors I was able to locate the lady who helped my dog on Friday morning. She told me she had to call Animal Service, but they promised they would take good care of my puppy and they would wait a few days before putting my dog up for adoption. Please keep in mind that my puppy was a beautiful pure breed German Shepherd which was well taken care of! A little bit of background, I purchased Bella with the intention of getting her to be a service dog for my autistic son, but she suffer from anxiety, she went through a lot of training, help and medication. We ended up taking care of her and her condition, but she was our baby. My kids’ best friend. When she got lost, I’m sure her anxiety was through the roof! But she was still behaving nicely and being sweet to the people helping her. When I finally received the information of where to go get her, I picked up my six year old from school to give her the good news and we went happy to this animal service office. We were waiting outside for them to bring my puppy back to us, my kids so happy! A lady came outside, all nervous, without a clear explanation, saying a vet decided to put her down. They did not have my puppy for over 24 hours!!! How or why would they do that to my puppy?! I started asking for explanations until I heard my six year old asking ‘why are they not bringing Bella? Mommy what is happening?’….it was hell! They put my family through hell. I left the place as fast as I could, but now I want answers. I want to know what happened! I need the reports and I need someone to take responsibility for what happened. I will keep pressing for paperwork (which they have not provided). Be careful with this office! None could do this to a beautiful, sweet German Shepherd!
