Description Good Mews is one of the few virtually cage-free, no-kill cat shelters in the state of Georgia and the first in the metro Atlanta area. Since 1988, Good Mews has placed over 9,000 cats in permanent homes. We receive no government support, relying solely on donations of time, service and money from our supporters, the public and area businesses. Good Mews is home to approximately 100 residents at any given time. We have an average adoption rate of 400 cats per year. We offer low cost Spay and Neuter Surgery services to the Cobb County area as well as TNVR resources for those that qualify. Multiple times a year we host a low-cost vaccine clinic that is open to the public.

Got my boy Kirby here and loved it so much I started volunteering with them! Great no-kill shelter, cats get to roam freely once they've transitioned to the spacious cat room, kittens have a separate space where they too get to free roam. The resident cats are very obviously well loved and taken care of, but still ready to find their forever homes.

I actually adopted 2 beautiful kittens 1 year ago from this organization and I came back to get another kitten and receive great service but when I tried to book an appointment I was told there “uncomfortable” selling me another kitten…. We were the ONLY black ppl there 🙃 they were helping us giving great service, told us we didn’t have to pick a cat that day and that we can come back. I guess that was them trying to get us out the door. They also told us we could schedule an appointment. So I did just that. Now they are saying they’re not comfortable selling us a kitten with no explanation behind it. For that 1 star because I’ve never experienced this.

This place is amazing. I felt the love and care for my kitten the minute I walked in. At 7am they received 12 people concerned about the well-being of their kittens. They processed everyone in less than 10 minutes and had everyone out the door and on the way to their day. At 1:45pm I was sent a link to pay my bill and my kitten was ready for discharge at 2:00pm. They knew who I was when I walked through the door. Incredible care. Incredible professionalism. Adopt from them. Donate to them. The team of doctors and volunteers have absolutely earned all the support you can offer. I am glad I found them. On an aside, Little Groot is already fully recovered from his Tuesday procedure. He says he is sort of disappointed he had to get snipped, but that he understands and sends his regards.

We wanted to find a Senior cat to adopt, so we looked at Good Mews as most places only have kittens. I have donated to this foundation before, but never adopted. It took 1 1/2 hours to adopt this cat. That's nuts. I filled out the application online ahead of time to save time. I knew exactly which Senior cat I wanted before I went in. Can this process be streamlined?? There were 2 cats with the same name, so we had to clarify that I went home with the right cats medication. Glad I am medical. The place was clean and the cats seemed well. Lots of feeding stations, water and litter boxes. It did Not smell. Not at all. There were large windows for the cats to watch the birds, but all of the bird feeders were empty. All in all, this is a great place, worthy of financial and community support. I'm pleased that they have Senior kitties as I plan to keep adopting 1 or 2 Senior kitties as each one passes away. We wanted these cats to live out their final years in a comfortable home. The kitty we adopted was Not Happy with all of the other kitties at Good Mews, but when we got her home, she was wonderful within a couple of days. Senior kitties are the best!

Amazing experience from start to finish. GM is an incredible place to find a suitable kitty who needs a forever home Kia came home with me and is just adorable. Now over 2 years old and pure joy. Thank you to the foster family...they must have had a doggie🙂

I got my kitten spayed here and they did a wonderful job. From start to finish it was a smooth process. From the first email response to my spay appointment request to check-in on spay day to picking her up in the afternoon. Great people, good prices and easy access cannot be beat. My kitten didn’t have but a couple of hours of down time recovering from the anesthesia. I highly recommend!!
