Description Welcome to the Homeless Pets Foundation, where compassion meets action. We are a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization with a mission to rescue and rehome homeless cats and dogs in the Atlanta area. With a deep understanding of the heartbreaking reality that over 100,000 animals face each year, our dedicated team of volunteers works tirelessly to provide the necessary medical care, foster care, and adoption services to save lives. Founded in 1998 by an Atlanta-based veterinarian, our goal is to prevent unnecessary euthanasia and give these animals a second chance at a happy, fulfilling life. My experience was seamless from start to finish. My daughter-in-law had seen Peach earlier in the day and I had to go check her out. It hurt my heart to leave her there so I filled out the forms and received a call the next morning! She’s the most precious kitty, very loving and sweet, such a wonderful addition to our family. Giddie Girl is starting to like her too😂 April was very sweet and helpful with getting her in my home as soon as she could. Thank you for a great experience!

Saw a 9 month old puppy listed on their website so I filled out an application. Was contacted the next day and was able to drive right over and meet the puppy. Was given a private area and everyone helping in the clinic was so nice and cheerful. Adopted the puppy and went home the same day. Fantastic experience!

I cant say enough good things about Homeless Pets. Every person here has a true love for the animals they take care of. Every person here helps you with care like you're family. It was an unbelievable honor to adopt my baby Chance from Homeless Pets ❤. I hope to someday play a bigger part and be a blessing to this foundation. drove over 30 minutes today to adopt at a so called “adoption event” being held in smyrna at a local pet smart. i was truly excited. when i got there they only had two dogs… and they told me in order to adopt either one I would have to fill out an application online and wait around a week till they contact me back for “approval” of adoption. for 1, why call it an adoption event if you can’t even take the pet home within the same day. that’s extremely misleading and a complete waste of time. and 2 you made me drive over 30 minutes to just look at only 2 dogs like it s a peanut gallery. and you tell me to fill out an application and wait a week for you to get back to me like it’s a job interview lol, GET REAL! i would not waste your time with this place

I cannot recommend this no shelter enough! We just adopted our first shelter dog 3 weeks ago. He is a great fit for our family. The facilities were clean and all the employees were so nice. They really care about getting the animals into good fit and its obvious. We are so happy with our Norman doodle!

I adopted both my pups from the Homeless Pets Foundation after they were surrendered as a bonded pair. I received a prompt response to my initial inquiry and the application and adoption process was thorough. This volunteer-run foundation works hard on behalf of the pets in their care and I’ve been proud to support them in their efforts.
