Unfortunately I am forced to give 1 star and that seems like it is too many. I have worked professionally with dogs for 20 years as well as owning many. I adopted 2 dogs elsewhere 3 years ago. They ended up bonded and did great together. However, one of them became more and more aggressive over time and ended up brutally attacking his sibling unprovoked. I worked with 2 behaviorists and tried behavioral supplements as well as medication. I ended up opting for behavioral euthanasia for safety reasons which broke my heart. My remaining dog has been mopey and sad since losing his brother. I found what I thought would be a perfect match for him at Auction for a Kaws. I attempted to contact them to find out info about the pup. After a week I was finally told that I couldn't meet her until they approved my application. EVENTUALLY I was told that I could not adopt her due to my dogs behavioral euthanasia. How hurtful to judge someone with no questions asked. I am already in a super bad place mentally for even having to make that decision and then to be judged by another dog professional is just cruel. Shame on you. Educate yourself. :(

Organization seems sketchy. No phone number, no names, no location provided. Just a website asking for donations. When you inquire about any of the pets, they want an application will all kinds of personal information before you can even see any of the animals. Even if this is legit, they are doing a disservice to the animals by making it so difficult to even get information on an animal to determine if it may be a good fit. I’d advise against donating to this organization or providing any personal information to them. There are too many other organizations out there operating in a way that it doesn’t appear is a scheme for collecting donations and or personal information.

It really is upsetting to write a bad post for a rescue because we always advocate for rescues and our dog we adopted from a rescue here locally who needed medical attention is now fully healthy. Two weeks ago, I did an application for one of the two pups that they had listed that needed a home. I totally understand that this is ran by volunteers so there was no urgency on my end, but I just received an email stating that my application was not approved and no clarifying reason as to why. You can not reach them by phone so still waiting on an email as to why. ( Because I asked ). Our pup we have now has a vet, up to date on vaccines, has a yard (1/2 an acre) to play and is a part of a very loving family so to be told, without any reason, I was not approved is really confusing. I should have followed my instants with this organization.

My Thoughts

Attended Auction for a Kaws. Won the bid and paid for 2 Silent Auction items. Buyer Beware!! 1. A tandem bike that we still have not received!! 2. A bike trainer that we did receive however the trainer is missing a critical part. The trainer is useless without the part! We feel scammed!

If everyone knew how hard Keli works to rescue and care for these animals (plus countless other ferral colonies all across the upstate) there would be NO bad reviews. A lot of the time these dogs and cats are found with no owners to ask questions about the health and history of these innocent souls. She has found and saved more lives than anyone probably knows about. She has found some of these animals in the most horrific conditions you can only imagine in nightmares. She takes her time and her money if needed to get them to the vet, surgeries if needed, medication, therapies, food, foster homes, and many other services to help these animals survive. She puts her heart and sometimes her life on the line for the ones who can not speak for themselves. Keli is not one to toot her own horn so im gonna do it for her. She is a beyond amazing woman doing so much good in this world a lot of people couldn't handle or just simply wouldn't do.. Her heart breaks every day for these animals and yet she still gets up at 2-3 in the morning to make sure ferral colonies are fed and safe, and to start each new day saving the lives of so many furbabies that cruel humans have either left to die or just simply neglected beyond belief. As far as these reviews about how she should have x-rays and blah blah blah. She does! She does everything to help these animals. There are no shortcuts in her world. Sometimes illnesses or conditions simply do not present themselves at that specific time and develop later. Also some owners who surrender their dogs or cats to the rescue do not give the full truth and history about the animal. She has learned that she can not make every human happy in this world but that doesn't bother her one bit. I garuntee she doesn't think twice about the "bad" reviews people leave, nor does it bother her even the slightest bit. She makes the biggest positive difference in the world of the animals she comes in contact with as well as the humans who are lucky enough to provide forever homes to these amazing souls. The furbabies she works day and night to give better lives to. The ones whose lives are saved because of HER! I will refer everyone I know to get involved with Auction For A Kaws rescue no matter how big or small their roll would be..and to adopt from the rescue if they are looking to provide a loving forever home to one of these grateful animals. Keli you are an angel and a warrior!! You are doing what so many others can not or will not do. I thank you from the bottom of my toes to the top of my head for all of the lives you save (and I'm 6 feet tall so u know thats a lot hahah) and for all of the hard work you do that is unfortunately so often thankless. THANK YOU KELI MILLER and AUCTION FOR A KAWS!!

Consider adopting from another rescue! My family adopted from here and have suffered extreme backlash from public posts made by the people who run it and their followers on FB who do not know the story. The dog we got had heart worms which we knew, but apparently had other issues as well. These would have been caught had an XRay been done.
