I am very saddened to write this review because for a while, I thought this was the perfect vet to take my cat to. However, during multiple occasions, I was shooed away because it was "too late" even when I arrived 5 hours before closing. When I finally got to speak to the vet, the vet informed me that my one year old cat just had a behavioral issue and her nonstop breathing could just be panic attacks. We had X-rays done that were supposedly sent to me but never were. When my cat's breathing got worse, I went to an Emergency Vet center instead and was told that my cat had a fatal disease and that it was too late to do anything. The center asked me to retrieve the X-rays from Abrams Royal and I quickly called and was told they'd be sent to me later. I was never sent them, and I told the Vet at the Emergency Center who got on the phone and was told that the tech for the X-ray had gone home and they were unable to retrieve the X-rays. This was 3 hours after I had called as well. The lady at the front desk has always been slightly rude to me and always seemed disinterested in the well-being of my pet. This was the same lady that I asked for the X-rays from as well. I was at Abrams Royal multiple times and never felt welcome from this lady (who was there every time I went) in comparison to how I saw she welcomed other people. Not to mention, one time she added extra payments onto my bill in which I asked for an itemized bill and then she told me she realized her mistake. While this place is considerably cheap compared to others, I will not be returning after the poor treatment I received.

Our senior dog developed a large growth and needed surgery to have it removed. We were so anxious because of her age and temperament, but Dr. Murray and his team did a wonderful job taking care of our girl. The whole experience put us at ease and the surgery went smoothly. Our dog is recovering nicely and we will be back for future veterinary needs.

Dr. Smith saved our 3 year old dog who had an emergency linear foreign body surgery. We didn’t know he swallowed something and Dr. Smith suggested X—Rays. Within 15 min, he and the other doctors agreed that something was stuck in his stomach/intestines and the emergency surgery was needed. Huge shock to us as we thought he would be fine with medications. He set proper expectations with us and knew exactly what needed to be done in the situation. We will forever be grateful for him and all the staff. Our dog wouldn’t be here today if it wasn’t for him.

It is so nice to find a veterinarian that is a.... Veterinarian. Just as It's hard to find a doctor for your own needs that isn't pushing the newest medication or too busy to see you for a week, sometimes months? We were lucky to be introduced to the Abrams Royal Animal Clinic through my father who has 3 bird dogs in the Lake Highlands area. And though we are over in Lakewood? We have found that it's worth the drive. It is a small vet location with a competent and patient staff that is not over worked or forced to try and upsell you. So the overall visit is always pleasant. A typical pre physical examination of your pet and tell you if they see anything and when the doctor comes in he'll look again. The ask you what the issue is and if it's not an issue? it's not an issue. He's not going to say well okay let's keep him/her here overnight blah blah . He explains that certain breeds do this in certain cats have issues or habits not to concern you. He's seen it before and it's not anything to worry about. If you have a serious issue? they will definitely treat it immediately and tell you up front what it might cost and how much they're willing to knock off if you're strapped for cash or money. It's not a charity, it's just that they care. There's no wait usually and you can bring your animal in that day. Call of course but wow... and they are also open on weekends. (may not say that on Google maps, but give them a call). I am always shocked that I'm paying probably half of what I expected and not charged for things that are routine. The location is clean and small and I'm sure that helps keep their prices down. But I can assure you that the vet has been doing this for decades to the point of being able to reminisce of stories from decades ago. I guess what I'm describing is a true veterinarian. There aren't many vets that run their office like they used to. With all the attempts to upsell you? The Vet is a man with decades of experience. He's seen it all. He does diagnosis instead of testing unless necessary. If you are worried about something and it turns out to be nothing? You can expect the bill to reflect that. This location and doctor is like a "time capsule" of how vets used to be.

I am beyond thankful for Dr Murray and his amazing team! The kindness, compassion( for both me and my dog), and thoughtful explanations of diagnoses and care made it possible to peacefully navigate my dog's last years. They completely understood how much I loved my dog and created a path that was kind to him and to me for months and months. I trusted them completely and am so glad I did. Thanks is not a big enough word for the whole team!

We had to say goodbye to our sweet baby girl of 16 years today. Unfortunately our normal vet was unable to see us so we came to AR animal clinic as walk ins. Although it took the doctor a while to see us he was extremely compassionate and helpful and walked us through all of the steps. The clinic is a little dated but the staff is friendly, courteous and knowledgeable. Highly recommend.
