Love this group and they stand by their slogan "no grey turned away." I have been active with various adoption groups over the years and this one is the best. It is all about the hounds, as it should be! I don't even live in Texas and adopted through them many years ago. I continue to donate and remain active with them--they are like family to me. They also have greyt experienced fosters that help adjust the dogs to retired life and then match them based on their personalities and needs. GALT does amazing work!

We've adopted 2 greyhound rescues from this group and it has been wonderful. The amount of dedication, commitment and knowledge of this organization is the best I've seen. I believe this is one of the top if not the top greyhound rescue adoption organization in the United States. They deserve every penny of support and volunteer time they receive. It is an outstanding organization that is very well organized and a great way to adopt a purebred greyhound that is well kept. They even have their own onsite kennel and many foster homes for doggies waiting to be adopted. Please consider adopting a greyhound from GALT today.

This "rescue" has a Silken Windhound who under their contract with the original owner was to be returned to the breeder under any circumstances in which the dog would need to be rehomed. This is included in every contract and the microchip was even registered with the breeder as the secondary contact. Rather than try to work with said breeder to get the dog into an appropriate home and continue having the support and care that the breeder provides throughout the life of the dog, the director decided to keep them for themselves and is refusing and blocking all those who are trying to reunite this dog with their rightful owner.

Website is not clear on how adoption process works. Only to fill out form and pay them money which will be partially refunded if there is no match. So we filled out application and paid the fee. During the screening call by staff after money is paid you are told there is a waiting list and the dogs posted for adoption on the site are not actually available. To continue the process of adoption you need to provide your financial records to this agency to make sure you are financially stable. My family has adopted rescue's in the past (benefitting the animal) and giving my financial standing to just anyone is not ok. This should be explicitly listed on the application prior to submitting but its an easy way for them to get "donations". By the way we were never actually "refunded" the partial application fee as stated.

I have worked dog rescue over 29 years private and public organizations. This is the only group whose Only reason for existing is finding homes for dogs. If you are a dog lover interested in giving back either time or talent you will find new friends who share your values.

Always a great experience adopting Greyhounds from this group. They really take pride in their hounds and take the time to find the perfect home. I support them 100%
