It’s stupid that you can’t adopt just one kitten. They want to force you to take 2. Then they wonder why people drop cats off along side of the roads.

I've been blessed to be qualified to adopt 6 thriving cats from LOAR. They've been so kind and helpful in my cat dad-dom. I couldn't help but want to get involved in volunteering. You may find me at PetSmart on the Eastside Saturdays, attending one of the many more to come Cat Fair Events 11 am-3 pm. We are always welcoming volunteer applications. 😻😻😻

I went in to PetSmart to see their kitties and left heart broken. Two pretty depressed looking kitties asleep in separate cages among cleaning supplies and packaged food items. Seriously‼️. Give these babies a Chance- not a long life of living at PetSmart. I talked to the employees and these people don’t even have a facility or get there very often. In hope somebody that sees this can help the actual cats living here.

A month long nightmare. The front line volunteers are amazing but the star chamber who makes the adoption decisions are just the opposite. We have been adoptive rescue cat parents or 35 years and this would have been our 4th adoption with Petsmart in the last 20 years. None of our references were ever contacted so our application was never processed. I spent a month trying to find out what might have happened and could not get the courtesy of a response. We applied to another adoption service via Petsmart West on a Tuesday afternoon and were contacted with an approval the next morning to discuss cat options. Shame on you Little Orphans.

I'm sorry, but I can not recommend this adoption agency. They are condescending when you are looking to adopt an animal and were accusatory and mean when I asked for help with the struggles my cat was going though. They did not help me troubleshoot next steps and quickly acted like taking the cat back was the "obvious" and only option. I was so overwhelmed and taken aback by their behavior that I agreed to let them take her back because I was worried about her development if I couldn't provide the best care. When the worker came to pick her up she practically yelled at me when I was confused and tried to ask if there was anything else we could do before they took her away from my home. I understand that many people do not understand the proper care techniques for cats, but this agency's employees are not here for LEARNING, only judgement. I agree that cats deserve the best home and I have been doing research for a year what I would need to get a cat (and as a biologist I do not take that word lightly). I did everything I could and when I reached out for help I was condescended, yelled at, and judged. I will never be adopting from them in the future. My heart is broken and the poor cat I adopted now has to adjust to being given up again. Please, go to a better shelter if you want a cat. I am so torn because we need shelters to take care of cats but if the people who try to adopt are not treated with some level of respect, then how can we expect them themselves to treat their animals with respect?

I cannot recommend this animal rescue. Too many cats in shelter, many are sick. I encountered a rude employee as well, who was very condescending to me as well after I adopted a “well” cat who turned out to be sick. They are in over their heads and need a bigger space and more experienced help. Not just more volunteers who like cats. If you do adopt, be sure to take your cat to a vet immediately so you know what you’re getting yourself into. Their mission to take in every cat who comes their way is commendable. Just be aware of what you may be bringing into your home.
