Dr. Jones is the best veterinarian my pug and I have ever experienced. I brought my almost 12 year old pug in to her for a fast growing mass on his right leg. Dr. Jones explained my options thoroughly. She is knowledgeable and practical. She does not put pressure on you one way or the other. Once I decided to have the mass removed off his leg, she was able to have the surgery scheduled within a couple of days. The surgery was done at night so I could take my pug home the next morning. She was able to remove the mass completely and my pugs recovery was fast and his wound healed well. He had minimal pain during recovery. Dr. Jones’ pricing was reasonable and low compared to many vet locations in SD. She does not try to excessively charge you or convince you to do things out of your comfort zone. I and my pug really appreciate the care provided by Dr. Jones and her staff.

Do not take your pet here Dr. Jones is unprofessional, irresponsible, and will not be fair in your dealings with her. She's also the only emergency doctor at this clinic and it purports to be open 24/7. They are never busy which should tell you something. I called at about 8:45pm on Dec 20, 2023 when my dog was ill. I had tried several clinics and none could see us. ER4Pets offered to see us if we could be there within 40-60min. We went straight there. My dog, Ellie, was evaluated by Dr. Jones in the back room and I was presented with a treatment plan which included xrays, blood work, a urine test, the administration of a couple of medications, and admittance to the hospital overnight to for surveillance and iv fluids. A total of $1,480. I spoke with Dr. Jones on the phone and she promised to keep me in the loop. I hesitantly left Ellie in her care. Fast forward the next morning, I had heard nothing. I called at 7am and they told me "no news is good news" and couldn't provide any updates about the results of the xrays etc. They advised I come to pick Ellie up as planned at 10am. When I arrived, I asked about the results of the tests. They could provide me NO information. They indicated that Dr. Jones was not in the building (to be fair she did have COVID) and that she had not completed the paperwork and medical records for Ellie so they could not give me any further information. I was frustrated and was simply sent home with a "certificate of bravery" and a can of wet doc food. I insisted that I be sent her medical records and that the doctor call me immediately. I didn't know how to care for Ellie or if I should continue the previous medication given the results of the test. I called another vet clinic who called and requested the vet records so they could help me interpret them. They also couldn't get the records. Finally at 2:34pm I recieved a copy of Ellie's record which included brilliant diagnostic insight such as "xrays revealed ....[blank]", "treated with ....[blank]" (see screenshot). At 7:51pm on the 22nd I sent Dr. Jones an email request a partial refund due to incomplete care. I'm not a medical doctor. I can't interpret the results of bloodwork or look at xrays. The medical record she sent was incomplete. Part of what you pay for when taking your dog to the hospital is the tests, but its also the interpretation of those tests. Dr. Jones failed to provide that. After sending that email, at approximately 9-9:30pm on the 22nd Dr. Jones called me and explained the results. But at this point it was too late - I had already paid another vet to provide a treatment plan for Ellie. To discharge a dog without a medical record is ILLEGAL in the state of California and I fully plan to report her to the board of Veterinary Medicine. I wanted to compromise and pay 50% of the bill. Dr. Jones would admit no wrongdoing and refused to negotiate with me. I explained that I would take this issue up with American Express if she refused to deal with me and I did (and won). In January 2024 she contacted us seeking payment for the bill. We again tried to reason with her and she told us "I do not owe you $740.26." Sure but we also don't owe you $1,480. We paid the bill but are seeking to take this issue up with the medical board in California and have also filed complaints with the BBB and posted the issue to sites like this. I would caution against engaging with Dr. Jones. I found her to be unscrupulous, dishonest, and fully unwilling to acknowledge any mistakes on the part of her and her staff. She clearly has disputes like this frequently. Dr. Jones, I'm sorry its come to this. I'm happy to talk if you would like to discuss this further, you know how to reach me.

I want to give Dr. Jones a five star review. Once again, she correctly diagnosed my dog when another ER Vet clinic missed it. I live in Carlsbad but I will travel 45 minutes to bring him to one of the smartest Veterinarian that I have come across. In fact, I have recommended her to others that travel the same distance or more. The clinic is very precise with the take home medication and instructions. I order Teddy's prescription dog food from ER4Pets and the delivery is fast and accurate (another failed experience from another Vet clinic) Thank you Dr. Jones for being my go-to ER hospital!

Thank you to the staff and veterinarians here! I brought my cat in after he was bitten by a rodent and was seen immediately. They were caring and compassionate to me and my cat, cleaned and patched him up, and brought so much relief to a stressful situation. I’m thankful to have them nearby!

I brought my dog to ER4Pets last night at around 11pm for severely swollen paws. The staff and Dr. Jones were nothing but caring, they made sure my dog felt safe and Dr. Jones was very caring and informative on what was going on with my dog. I hope I won't have to take my dog back to the ER but if I do I definitely will come back to ER4Pets.

If there was a way to give negative stars I would. DO NOT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL if you love your pet. My regular vet is in North Park and my cat had an appointment scheduled, but her condition got worse and she needed to be seen asap. I drove 40 minutes close to midnight because after calling so many places they were the first that was open and said they could see my cat right away. The assistant on the phone and in person was the only saving grace for this practice. Her name is Rocio. I’m used to sitting in the op room with my pet, but they immediately separated us for the initial exam. Immediately I was asked to sign a form that asked me to choose to pay either $800 or $2000. I asked if they would just do an exam first and I would pay for that. They charged me $120 for a “Doctor Fee”. I sat in the room alone for what seemed like 2 hours. A random woman walked in in matching scrubs as Rocio, she never introduced herself. She gave very limited information and asked me to pay for more services, but would not tell me anything other than my cat was placed on a heating lamp and had a low body temperature. They apparently tried using a blow dryer on her, but I heard it only go off for less than a minute while waiting. She said perhaps my cat was dehydrated , so I asked if they could hydrate her, but she said she was unable to do that unless I paid for a treatment plan that was now $1500. It seemed like all they cared about was money. This random woman walked out after I told her I worked in a medical office and what was happening here seemed fishy. Rocio came back in the room and I asked her who the woman was and she said it was the Dr. Dr Diana Jones to be exact. I asked Rocio when I arrived, “If I don’t pay this $2000, will my pet die?” She said “No, of course not.” After Diana Jones (I refuse to call her a doctor) walked out and she walked in, I asked her “Is my cat going to be able to survive the night and make it to her regular vet tomorrow?” She said “Yes, just keep her warm.” Diana eventually walked back in, extremely rude and not explaining anything. I repeatedly asked for my cat to be returned to me because at this point I didn’t trust them with her. I left I wrapped her up in a warm blanket and we fell asleep. I woke up around 4am, she was still there and let out a meow. By 5am she was gone. When her regular vet got the notes back from this place she said “You cat was in shock, they could have immediately given her a shot for that same for dehydration, an immediate IV), but based on the notes they wrote down, she was so close to death, even if you would have paid those prices they should have told you how dire her situation was.” They never did. I received a call after my vet had already called them. They wanted to check up on how she was doing. Diana Jones called from her personal number, but didn’t say anything. I texted her back and asked her to retire and if she didn’t to receive the same treatment my cat did at her office if they thought what they did was right. If you want a ride doctor who is devoid of emotion and information and only wants money, this place is for you.
