I rescued my chiwinnie Bella . She had a broken jaw and 16 cysts taken out . She was aggressive at first but got mellow after we gave her care and attention and love . We only had her for 5 years but she had the best last years of her life with my other dachshunds Rex and Noelle. She loved my dog Rex. I miss Bella a lot. Second chance dog rescue gave Bella a chance to feel loved and have a home .

I got the love of my life, Chevy, from Second Chance Rescue!🐶💓😃 They are a wonderful, caring nonprofit group that rescues and fosters animals for adoption, with love. Thank you for this joy! Even though they are in San Diego County, they have some foster families in South Orange County. That's how I met my darling dog son!

We adopted a beautiful pup from here and can't say enough great things about them. We reached out to Sarah who helped us schedule two meetings with pups, one that wasn't even listed on their site yet. They allow a two week foster to adopt program to make sure you and your future family member get along. Great communication and adoption system.

Second chance dog rescue was great. I saw the dog i wanted text them about him, within the hour i had a response. I was a bit concerned over how far away the dog was they told me not to worry they would bring him to me and they did.Dianne is a super person along with the foster Sarah. I would highly recomend them. I have my Walter now and couldnt be happier. Thanks for the work you do to save these animals.

Very unprofessional organization. My boyfriend and I worked directly with Jack to rehome a dog we adopted from this organization two years prior. I met with Jack to meet Jill prior to finding a foster so he understood the challenges we were having with her. Jack found us a foster in a reasonable time; however, the foster called me two hours later telling me I needed to pick back up my dog as she could not handle her. The foster was a behavioral dog trainer, or so we were told. We were rehoming Jill because of aggression and anxiety, and the qualified dog trainer, Ashley Valentine, gave up on her after less than two hours of time. I provided ample amount of evidence of Jill’s behavior and was very transparent with our experience and why we needed to rehome Jill. I followed all of Ashley’s instructions to ensure a smooth rehoming process. Ashley was having a party at her house shortly after I was forced to go pick up Jill- she had clearly not dedicated time to her at all and told me it was best to euthanize her. Jack told us we had no choice but to pick up the dog we had already signed away and relinquished our rights to, and he never responded back to us with a plan like they both promised. They kept our dogs belongings until I asked for it back, and even then we did not receive it all back. Jack has still not responded back to us and this happened a week ago. Horrible customer service and they will not help you rehome a dog. Don’t waste your time with this organization.

Great staff!! They make both adoption and fostering very easy. I have been fostering dogs from them.
