I am writing this review for public awareness - not to be rude or give anyone a bad name. That being said, dogs need homes and they are putting their emotions before the mission. Here is my honest review and an overview of what we have been through with The DeTommaso Dogs so please read this if you are thinking about adopting a dog from this group. They get two stars because they are saving dogs and their mission is a good one. They do not get any more than that because they are extremely difficult to work with and a dog that could be in a good home is still in foster because of the founder's ego and attitude. Ana raised her voice on more than one occasion for asking questions about the dogs she had available. They say they will do a trial with you, but if at the end of the trial it does not turn into an adoption, they will hold it against you for the next one. We eventually found a dog that we fell in love with and had spent hours with the foster and were ready to move forward. Not only were we denied a trial but we were denied the adoption for "asking too many questions"! This is beyond awful and the definition of putting your emotions before the mission. Did we ask a lot of questions? YES we did! We wanted to make sure we had the right fit for everyone including the dogs, us, and our resident cat. I think asking questions and vetting the right fit is a good thing, and if more people did that, they would have less dogs returned. The dog we wanted to adopt had already been no-showed by potential adopters, and we could have given her a really great home. We reached out again to see if there was anything we could do to clear the air so we could adopt this dog. We offered a donation, another conversation, anything just to figure out how we could save this dog and we were notified by TEXT that we would not be allowed to adopt her. They were not open to a conversation, and they told us they would not change their mind. We are committed and loving pet parents that always adopt because we believe in saving animals. When ego gets in the way, dogs don't get homes. What a shame, so please be aware of this if you decide to work with this group.

Great dog rescue. Their foster care is outstanding and they take time to find the best fit for their dogs.
