One officer will say that everything is fine, then another will claim that you're abusing your animals and take them. Oh! But you can go pick them up from the shelter because they aren't REALLY worried about the animals' welfare, they just wanted to charge you to board them and give them vaccines that they've already had. Also they'll claim to have called you multiple times and not gotten a response, but in reality never even call once. My advice? If they come to your door for a "welfare check" pretend you aren't home and keep your animals inside. Because they WILL snoop around the property, even if you have "No Trespassing" signs clearly visible.

I have never been on the phone with someone more rude. I was trying to explain that there is a kitty missing in my area and that I pulled a deceased one off the road by my house that matches it's description. I was trying to ask if they would come test it for a microchip and he was very short with me telling me to take it to a local vet. Then he told me he had another call on the line and hung up on me. Thank you for trying to be understanding Sir!

I called around 8:30 at night regarding a dog that busted in my house while I was trying to come home, busted out my back door which was open due to my own dogs being outside at the time. They told me just to stay inside and someone would come in the morning to get him in the mean time he is tearing up my door/porch. My daughter got home from work around 12:30am and the dog again busted in which this time my dogs was inside, he then went after my pit at that time my pit attacked him, We have to call 911 which didn't want to send help out until I was screaming on the phone. My pit is close to 200lb I'm only 140 so trying to get my dog off the other dog wasn't possible. It is now 11:35am so almost 12 hours after the attack and Animal welfare has yet to come to house and get the dog which is still on my porch. Was told they were dealing with a aggressive dog elsewhere so my call for help wasn't an emergency? This is uncalled for!!!!

I have gotten a few really great animals from them. They have always been very helpful. And knowledgeable.

The people that work here are completely useless and utterly heartless. We’ve had these two dogs that have attacked 2 cats in the neighborhood, (which we had to spend hundreds of dollars to put them to sleep because their injuries were so bad) and they murdered 1. That all happened at the beginning of May, and what have these people done to help? Absolutely nothing. No regards to what those dogs could do to children, no regards to how many animals these dogs will kill. Recently i’ve seen those exact same dogs try to attack more cats, and that lets me know that Escambia Animal Control will not do anything to prevent anymore murders these dogs will continue to do. We are on our on in Escambia when it comes to violent animals. Do better Escambia Animal Control.

They target poor and homeless pet owners because they don't have the money to fight back. They'll claim to want to work with you, but will give no warnings, offer no resources, and just jump straight to taking your animal if they can find the smallest reason. So then you have to pay for all the junk they'll do at the shelter even if your animal is healthy and all that was wrong was you just couldn't afford to update their tag on time, or had them tied next to you while panhandling. $45 just for vaccines ALONE that they don't know if the animal has gotten or not. And then they microchip your animal whether you want it or not and charge you $30 for that. Considering that some people are against microchips, or some animals already have one, that should be illegal! And don't expect them to be truthful about the animal's care/situation either. They'll take a dog wearing his rabies tag with a full water bowl, but a low food bowl and report that the dog had no food and water and no rabies tag. And unless you can prove otherwise, you're screwed.
