I can’t say enough about how incredible my experience was at Alameda East. My dog, Theodore, ate an entire box from the mail that included a magical chocolate bar. My first step was to call poison control and assess his eatings. They recommended I call my PCP. Dr. Binkerd and Alameda east promptly reached out to poison control with my case number to triage the situation ASAP and ensure my fur baby had the best care plan. I headed over to alameda east as recommended, with frantic behavior and a struggling, anxious Theodore. When entering the building, I was not in great shape, and the entire staff greeted me with warm welcomes and assurance he would be okay. When I asked for a towel to clean up his mess, they told me they would take care of it and just to relax. Dr. Binkerd walked me through each step of his care plan which included steps to empty his stomach and monitor his symptoms for anything neurological. Despite the guilty and anxiousness I had, she was able to assure me he was in the best hands (which he was) and he would be ok. Despite me having to leave him for 6-8 hours so they could monitor, I felt completely confident when I left he would come back in the best condition. Dr. Alvarez took over his case, and gave me prompt updates throughout his stay to ensure I had the most recent updates and knew exactly what was going on including when they added an anti nausea medication. His calming and friendly demeanor over the phone was just what we needed in a chaotic situation such as this. Theodore left the hospital by the end of day acting almost back to normal. You can tell he enjoyed his stay with this big smile on his face! Hopefully we never experience this again but if we do, I know where we are going and who we are referring all of our friends and family too!
This place is well worth the fairly high priced but excellent treatment and well being of animals. The staff is friendly and efficient. I especially want to recognize the front desk receptionist Jessica B. for her professionalism, her overall friendliness and for explaining every process in great detail. My dog has surgery today, I know it will go well because he is in the caring hands of the staff here. Thanks VCA Alameda East!
I can’t say enough positive things about Alameda East. From the receptionists to the nurses to the doctors — every single person that we have been in contact with has been extremely professional and so caring. Our dog Riley was in the ER for 5 days and I felt so comfortable knowing that he was there with their group, given the love and care they provided for him. They are phenomenal with giving updates and keeping you in the loop. So so grateful for this group, thank you for helping guide us through these terrifying times!! It really makes a difference when you’re going through something so traumatic and you have this spectacular support. Special thanks to Natalie at the receptionist desk, Devin (our vet tech), Dr. Craig and Dr. Crawford!!! <3
We recently had an urgent situation with our dog, Wilbur, who suddenly began having difficulty walking. His condition deteriorated rapidly, prompting us to seek immediate veterinary care. We chose Alameda East Animal Hospital, and it turned out to be the best decision we could have made. From the moment we arrived, the staff greeted us with warmth and compassion, making a stressful situation feel more manageable. Their friendliness and professionalism were evident throughout our entire experience. Dr. Kelli Kopf, Wilbur's surgeon, was nothing short of amazing. Her expertise in diagnosing and treating Wilbur's IVDD (Intervertebral Disc Disease) was impressive. She was incredibly thorough in explaining the diagnosis, the surgical procedure needed to address Wilbur's ruptured disc, and what the recovery process would entail. Communication from the hospital was exceptional. We were kept informed at every step of the way, from pre-surgery through Wilbur's recovery. This level of communication provided great comfort during a very anxious time. The facility's cleanliness also stood out. It's clear that Alameda East takes great pride in maintaining a clean and welcoming environment for both pets and their owners. Wilbur has been home for about a week now. While recovery has not been easy, he is making progress and even walking a bit. I am confident that, thanks to Dr. Kopf and the entire staff at Alameda East, Wilbur will fully recover. I cannot recommend Alameda East Animal Hospital highly enough. Their combination of medical expertise, compassionate care, excellent communication, and a clean facility made all the difference for Wilbur and our family.
Our cat, Sophie, had a scary neurological event happen suddenly and our usual ER Animal Hospital suggested we bring Sophie here to the VCA Alameda East hospital as they had neurological specialists who could help Sophie better. While this was a very scary and stressful situation for our family -- the admin team, techs, nurses, and vets that we saw went above and beyond to make sure Sophie was cared for, and they communicated frequently with us to keep us updated every step of the way. We especially had a wonderful team with Dr. Crawford at the helm, and Sophie's little recovery team gave so much love and attention to my cat (who loves a lot of attention) and treated her like one of their own. Sophie has since made a full recovery and I can't thank everyone at the VCA for helping Sophie get healthy again - every time I see her healthy and walking around, I am filled with appreciation.
Dr. Minner and her team were so awesome! Everyone was so friendly and caring..... even the security guard!😁 On Sept 22nd, my Jack Russell was hit by a pickup. I called sobbing hysterically, trying to figure out where they were located. Melissa (I believe that was her name) was so patient with me. She stayed on the phone with me until I got there, calming me down while leading me in the right direction. She even had two vet assistants waiting for us as soon as we pulled up so my dog could get care ASAP. Dr. Minner examined my dog and came to talk to me right away. She gave both her doctor recommendations as well as necessary treatment moving forward. They kept a close eye on him and thank the Lord, my dog ran up to me like nothing happened. Thank you so much! 🥹❤️🙏🏾
