Regarding Joe Ruder's comment: The dog he referenced was NOT a Colorado Basenji Rescue placement. It was a posting from a private owner in Parker to myself. Colorado Basenji Rescue (CBR) had nothing to do with this. In the past I adopted a basenji, a lovely and sweet dog, from CBR--and I highly respect Peggy and all others involved in Colorado Basenji Rescue. CBR carefully examines beforehand all dogs they help place in homes seeking dogs. That is why I give them 5 stars and hope readers here disregard mistaken words from Joe Ruder.

CBR recommended a dog for placement in my friend's home. The dog was unvetted and apparently they had never even seen the dog. The dog was vicious and bit several people badly as well as another dog. CBR tried to blame the problem on my friend but that was utter nonsense. Beware when accepting dogs from this organization, or at least keep your health insurance up to date.

Peggy has done an amazing job caring for Basenjis in the rescue, finding them fosters and homes. Her knowledge of the breed is a gift to all Basenji owners.

This particular organization has great people They have been doing this a long time and have a true passion! Peggy who works as a foster mom is wonderful working with rescues. 20 Years later .I still smile at the fun we had.
