Dr. Michael Rogers and his team provided exceptional care for my cat, Stella, and me during her battle with renal failure. Dr. Rogers took the time to review her history, clearly explain her condition, and discuss her quality of life and treatment options with compassion and honesty. The entire staff was kind, supportive, and gentle, making a heartbreaking situation more bearable. Their expertise and empathy gave me confidence in making the best decision for Stella. I highly recommend Dr. Rogers and his team for their outstanding veterinary care.
Do NOT come here unless you are prepared to pay UPFRONT the ENTIRETY of your emergency surgery bill and still have your pet die less than a week later. We brought our cat here after being told she needed emergency surgery. The ER tech brought her back and then came into the tiny room they shoved us into. The tech proceeded to explain that they would NOT perform treatment of ANY KIND unless we paid $6500 immediately. When asked if we could put a deposit of $2000 and pay the rest off, we were flatly refused. I had to open an entire line of credit just to have my cat taken care of, while I was trying to find a credit company the tech returned to the room just about every 5 minutes to tell us that her condition was worsening and to ask if we had acquired credit yet. The best part of all of this? My cat died of sepsis less than a week later. Our normal vet told us that her internal stitches had come undone and her abdomen was full of excrement and viscera. This hospital fleeced me and my family, out of $6500 dollars, and killed our cat. NEVER COME HERE.
My sweet baby kitty, Gin, scared the hell out of me this weekend! On Friday, she was acting lethargic, wouldn’t eat and was drooling. After trying many different things, we decided to take her to Denton County Animal ER. Turned out she had a bad viral infection, a fever of 105.2 and her tongue was probably 75% covered in ulcers. They kept her overnight with antibiotics, pain meds, fever reducers and fluids. Saturday morning, there was zero improvement so they decided to keep her. I checked in Saturday afternoon and zero improvement. They FINALY got her fever down late Saturday evening but she still refused to eat. Sunday morning they called to tell me they were considering a feeding tube because she had now gone 3 days without eating and was super skinny and weak. They asked if I wouldn’t mind coming to see her first and seeing if she would eat for us. During our visit, she showed interest in eating the tuna I brought but wouldn’t eat it. The vet thought maybe if we took her home and she was in her own environment, maybe she would eat. By late Sunday afternoon, we still couldn’t get her to eat but my husband had a good idea to take her medication syringe and try and put some of the wet food gravy in it to kinda force feed her. We were able to get a little food that way and it made her try to take a few bites but she didn’t eat much. Monday, same thing. Poor baby girl was so weak and wouldn’t come out of the bedroom for anything. All she did was sleep on a blanket in the guest room. I was able to get her to eat small chunks of tuna by wrapping her in a blanket and putting the small chunks in her mouth toward the back of her tongue, past the ulcers. It is now Wednesday morning and she ate an entire can of tuna by herself when we were at work last night. She is still drooling and dealing with the ulcers but able to eat and back to her sweet loving self! I am super grateful to the staff there for taking such good care of her and not doing unnecessary things like a feeding tube just to suck more money out of me! Those last photos are her home with me now
I cannot begin to express how grateful we are to have found this place …Our sweet Panda of 15 years became very ill last Saturday night with vestibular disease and as she was deaf blind incontinant we felt it was her time … heartbreaking decision to make as many of you know but we did not want her to suffer or have little quality of life…The staff and doctor were beyond amazing! compassionate kind and informative ..they walked us through what was an extremely difficult night and above all made sure sweet Panda girl was immediately comfortable with sedation before the procedure…Panda crossed the rainbow bridge with dignity and in peace…surrounded by love….we have other senior dogs who are getting up in years and it is so comforting to know that if and when that time comes again for our beloved pets that we have a place we can count on for injuries or illness in an emergency…Thank you Denton county emergency ER for being there when we needed you!
On their card they have it written, "Compassionate Care. Always." and they 100% hold true to that value! My Chihuahua, Radar was in labor and after a couple of hours of trying to push I knew something was wrong. On a Sunday evening I took my sweet, suffering dog to the closest pet ER and they determined that her 3 pups were to big for her to birth and that she needed a C-section that was going to be a minimum of $4000. I didn't qualify for care credit and they basically sent me away with a suffering dog. I sat in their parking lot trying to find any 24 hour vet clinic who would try and work with my financial situation I called about 5 other places and when I called Denton they told me to bring her and that they have more options for payment. As soon as I pulled up Hannah came out to help me in and took her straight to the back. Megan gave me 3 different places to try and qualify for credit and then they ended up being able to help her naturally give birth without surgery. They were the only place that really cared about the well being of my dog and not the money! Now, I know they need to get paid and they should and they WILL but they did what they had to do first! I am so extremely grateful that my dog and her puppies are going home with me and my son at 2am in the morning! Would give them more stars if I could!
I rarely take the time to post reviews anymore, but I was so pleased that had to go out of my way to let people know how much I recommend this facility. They have the most compassionate and educated animal care I've experienced in Dallas so far! Their priority was clearly for my dog's wellness and while the price for the exams, scans and treatments came out to be high (but understandable for an ER), they were super patient with my financial situation even when I was feeling bad about it because they know its tough out here! They not only took care of my baby promptly and effectively but they were more than flexible and understanding with their multiple payment options. 20/10 highly recommend! I would give 20 stars if I could.
