I have been going to this location for a few years now. In the last year it’s been really really tough. I feel like I haven’t been given the proper service and support I needed for my dog and my dog became very fearful of going (out of nowhere) which raised concerns for me. BUT. Today was the experience that I used to have years ago. A man named Phillip brought me into the room and kindly explained every detail for the procedure my dog was going to have. He listened to my concerns, and provided support where he could. He was so incredibly kind and patient and gentle with my dog. When I came back to pick him up, he brought my dog out and again was incredibly kind. He detailed (again) everything that they did, how my dog handled it all and reminded me of what to do for the evening at home with him. He just showed that he cared which means the world to me. I haven’t had this kind of service at Banfield in a long time so it was really really refreshing to have. I felt like he treated my dog well and was patient with his fears being at the vet. You’d be lucky to have Phillip assisting you. I would personally give Phillip 5 stars.

So I wasn’t going to ever leave a review and just move on, but Banfield just texted me to leave a review after 2 1/2 years of my last pet visit. The worst experience ever. I don’t know what location this is for, but the location on South Austin by the Target traumatized my dog for life. I don’t know what they did but my dog can’t stand white lights (such as doctor flashlights) nor nail clippers. And it started immediately after the visit. My dog hates vets. Started after that visit. That visit they held my dog for 4 hours longer than it usually takes for the same procedures (shots nail trimming that’s it) They traumatized my dog for life. Please do yourself a favor and never EVER take your dog to Banfield or any vet franchise. They are disingenuous and horrible. please stay away.

This is my go-too for my dog and cat. They love it here, staff is great and love animals. Pet Plan pays for most of my bills considering both of my pets are healthy. Never been dissatisfied with the vet check up and emergency visits.

One of the most caring Banfield’s I have been to. They do everything they can to expedite services to get you in and out while treating your pet great. Highly recommend. Very surprised with all the negative reviews as it’s rare front desk and vets and techs are all attentive.

Banfield put my cat under anesthesia, then the vet called to tell me she did not have time to perform the procedure due to her busy schedule. This was despite having confirmed the plan with the front desk during scheduling, confirmed during drop-off, and reassured it would be done by the vet tech pre surgery. After becoming (justifiably) upset the vet said she could do part of the procedure, but we would need to come back on a day when they had more time and pay again. The manager then had the audacity to call me at 7 pm on a Saturday to harass me for payment for putting my cat under anesthesia even though they did not complete what was promised. I caught him in multiple lies-- he then threatened to send the bill to collections and refused to acknowledge it apologize for how misleading his staff was and that it was his branches poor scheduling that lead to my cat unnecessarily being put under anesthesia. Do not use Banfield if you love your pet. Especially not the one on 9300 S Ih 35, Austin, TX 78748.

Staff is not properly trained; they made a mistake on every word of my client forms when I called in. I've never seen that before. Also, they don't seem to care much about pets; it's more profit-oriented. I left a message, and the vet was supposed to reach out to me but never did. They put me on hold for 30 minutes, and when they picked up, they seemed unaware that I had been on hold.
