I wish I could give ZERO STARS for the lack of empathy and compassion showed by the Doctor at my last visit. My Golden baby was 11 + years old. When his health started to decline ( including diabetes, blindness, arthritis and hip dysplasia) we decided not to make him suffer any more. Since my baby had very bad anxiety issues , his vet recommended to have the process done at home. So we made an appointment with << The Compassionate Vet>> on Wednesday the 10th at 4pm. Around 1.30 am on Wednesday my Baby started to have shortness of breath. Few minutes later started to have seizures . It was really hard to see him suffering . So I called Emergency Vet and they asked me to bring him right away. He was picked up by the techs from the car. They explained to me that they had to place an intravenous Catheter and will bring him back to the room. Later another Tech came in and told me they were giving oxygen . When they brought my baby to the room I noticed that his breathing was very shallow .I told the techs I think he is gone. One of the tech said we had to let the doctor know and exited the room right away. Few minutes later ( not even two minutes) a lady entered the room with three syringes filled with medications. She didn’t bother to introduce her self. No sorry , or ask whether you need some time to say good bye or explaining the process. She tried to reach the IV line. I told her I was not sure whether he was still with us , aren’t you listen to the heart beats. She took the stethoscope and listen less than 1-2 seconds and said.<< , yes >> and started to push the medication . All three syringes were emptied within 15 seconds and my baby’s body shake vigorously and my baby is gone. I couldn’t say a proper Goodbye to my baby. To the doctor who treated my baby this way << For you it is an animal and you see only $$$ . For me he is my baby who gave unconditional love for 11+ years. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to have your pet processed by this doctor.
My dad and I have both had poor experiences here with our dogs. The reception people are great. As a business they are a tad incompetent. Wait times, general recovery knowledge seems poor to average. They sold me medication I couldn’t use and said too bad no refunds. Just do yourself a favor go on the other side of the highway to the other emergency facility. Cheaper and much better quality.
I’m so thankful to the staff at CTVSEH for taking care not only of my pet, Brigitte, but of me too last Halloween. I had called and they told me to come in immediately. Within thirty minutes, we had a diagnosis and made sure Brigitte had a peaceful passing in their private room where I could spend time with her before her last moments. Brigitte passed at 15 years old from heart failure but thankfully was not in pain because they were swift in their care. I will never forget my experience with them and I am so beyond grateful that they were available to tend to Brigitte. Should I adopt a pet again, I would not hesitate to bring them to this facility again for urgent care. I am floored by their compassion, professionalism, and their kindness to me. They not only sent me a card offering their condolences but I also received a paw print of my best friend that I can cherish forever. Thank you again to the staff and Dr. Gabrielle O'Garro, I am so grateful for you all. ❤️
I wish I could give zero stars for the lack of importance I was made to feel by these employees. The first girl I spoke with was kind and helpful getting me to get my dogs basic info and hopefully getting her checked in as soon as possible. I completely understand that there are other dogs that are coming in more critical condition than mine, and I had no issue with the animals in a more severe state of course going in and being seen before us, however I should not feel like my dog simply did not have any issue. To be quite frank, I called before I even took my dog in and told them the issue she was having and they only responded with “yes take her in” which I promptly did and was given the impression I would be seen soon. Again, I get that other animals are potentially in a worse position than mine, but if I spoke to you on the phone and explained the issue, it would have saved me the hour and half I was in the waiting room for nobody to ever even come up to me and ask further questions about what was going on with her if someone just could have said it wasn’t that critical of an issue and I could wait to have her seen during normal hours. I waited so patiently without a word the entire time until I literally could not take it anymore. I get protocol, I feel for the other patients that have issues that require immediate attention, but for heavens sake if you have seen particular similar issues happen before, and know it’s not a STAT problem, you can kindly tell someone over the phone so people don’t waste their time, and ESPECIALLY make them feel like their animal is not a priority in any way.
This place was amazing & I'm so grateful for their kindness. They take good care of the pets & the parents! We had to put our sweet baby down because her injuries were too severe, & they even sent me a sweet sympathy card. They're 24 hours & I will definitely recommend them to anyone who needs a good vet!
I wish I could rate them zero stars. Take your animals to another group! Trust me as someone who used to be a "customer" for 10 years. They need to learn how to provide patient first care and lead with empathy and compassion. For over 10 years the RR location was my listed emergency vet, and after interacting with this south location, I will never return to this emergency vet group again. Look at the other company around the corner who actually care for their patients with love and compassion.
