Description "Non profit organization that rehabilitates injured, sick, and abandoned wildlife with the intent to release back into their natural habitats."
Evelyn's Wildlife Refuge is an incredible wildlife rescue that covers a large majority of Eastern Virginia. All of their rehabbers and staff are unpaid volunteers. They take in thousands of babies a year with no source of government funding. During baby season, the highest intake time of the year, the rehabbers answer over 50 calls a day while also providing critical emergency care to injured babies. Hampton Roads and the southside are blessed to have this resource in our area ♥️
Evelyn's wildlife has been amazing any time I have needed them in the past. They really do care about all of the animals in need and do their best to save them all. I can't believe that anyone would have the audacity to leave a one star review for volunteers who are working their butts off and may not be able to answer every single phone call. Evelyn's wildlife deserves all the stars! I hope that one day I'll be able to work alongside them. Until my life allows time for that, I will support them in anyway I can.
Evelyn's Wildlife Refuge has provided the Community with countless assists with Wilfdlife in an unparelled dedication. As a Chesapeake Bay Community, with limited resources, Evelyn's all Volunteer efforts are a critical and priceless asset. A special Thanks to the whole Team of Volunteers, for also assuring opportunities for Adults and Children to be educated on proper Wildlife Rescue in Virginia!
I have reached out many times for help and advice. I have always had a response. These are UNPAID VOLUNTEERS or as I call them Angels on Earth. I am in awe of them every single day. I can't imagine responding to 80 calls a day. Taking care of all of the babies and adults that they care for out of their own pockets.
Evelyn's in amazing! They work tirelessly for our areas native wildlife...all while being unpaid volunteers. They work closely with our areas animal control and DWR to ensure positive outcomes for our wild neighbors. 🥰
I contacted this Refuge today. Wanted to attempt to find out what creature was making a particular sound out in the marsh. They answered right away and I looked it up. I do believe they hit the nail on the head:-) My husband I have been racking our brains trying to find out what it could be. A HUGE thank you to ALL REHABBERS. They spend many, many unpaid hours and money of their own for the wild animals. They certainly DO NOT get the recognition they deserve.
