We have been coming here for 2 years. For starters one of the doctors always recommended our cat be sedated for visits because he occasionally hissed and they considered him violent. I have witnessed him at the vet, he hides and will rarely hiss but he has never been aggressive towards staff. I will point out that this is one specific vet as we took him in with a different vet at one point who loved him and said he was skiddish but fine. He refuses to leave his carrier but will let you do whatever you need to do so long as he gets to stay put so I don’t understand why this vet wanted to sedate him so bad but the way that vet reacted was as if she’d never worked with cats. We also had the care club which we were told was insurance when signing up however they do not like using the word insurance. It does feel like we were mislead and taken advantage of as new pet owners to sign up. I moved to a different part of the state and explained this to them and was told I could cancel but for a fee. I was even told that they sometimes have people whose pets have died even pay the fee. The fee they were charging me is half of my remaining balance. My “membership” is up in two months anyways and they won’t budge from charging the fee. They said if I don’t want to pay the fee, I can pay the full remaining balance. It’s almost $1k a year for their “membership” I doubt we even used that much of it in one year. They also charge far more than most other vets in the area. And don’t bother leaving a comment telling me to reach out, I’ve already spoke with your management team about the issue and they have made it clear they do not care.

I had one good experience at the first appointment in July 2023. Every other appointment has been mediocre to terrible. They are understaffed and always take forever to start your appointment, but have no grace window on your side. Getting an appointment scheduled takes weeks, even for tech appointments or when there is something serious. They scheduled me for an imaging appointment once then 30 minutes before the appointment called to say they couldn’t do afternoon imaging appointments and we needed to come another day. My dog was diagnosed with a painful condition and they’ve delayed starting treatment and I had to ask multiple times about pain care for him. He still doesn’t have any pain care. On top of that, they’re more expensive than any other vet I’ve used. I wouldn’t mind if the experience was good and the care was worth it. It’s definitely not.

Not good. Can’t figured out my cats issue, but continuously sending me back to the hospital. And each visit takes time and money. I ended up shifting to another hospital and they figured out cats issue on the first visit. We then are able to treat specifically. It feels this store only wants your money, at the cost of your sick furry kids.

I feel very taken advantage of financially. charged $120 for an exam and the vet didn't even touch my cat. Spoke to me a few minutes. Im a senior living on social security and wasn't offered a slight discount. This after having done cat rescue for over 20 years. Had I known , would have gone elsewhere. Should have realized it is a franchise.

Worst communication and they confused us on the charges and let us believe the fee covered the next vaccine but it didn’t. I will strongly discourage you visiting this clinic and they just want to charge you as high as possible (at least doubling the price elsewhere)

VCA Santa Clara has the best sellers team and they were good at misleading you with hidden information about charges and verbally reinforced the mislead. I learnt a lot and won’t be back and hope this comment can at least make other people more cautious about whatever charge they put to you.
