I got an awesome husky here. You can find other great dogs here too. Mine already knew multiple commands and non-verbal signals. She is pretty well behaved for a young husky. I didn’t even go there to see this dog, but she picked me. The staff can help you decide if a certain dog is the right match for you and your life. There were so many other cute dogs too. Adopt here!

I came here just out of curiosity because the news said they were over crowded. I left with the best dog I ever could have asked for. My experience after adopting my Norman has completely changed my view on shelter dogs. The staff here is friendly and helpful. They neutered my boy, chipped him, and gave him all of his shots free of charge!

I took a cat that was abandonded by a neighbor at the apartments I live at. I moved in the apartment in May 2024, and the neighbor said the people that owned him moved to Calif. and left him. I been feeding the cat, and took him in middle of Sept. to intake to see if Metro Animal Care would take him, and the girl at the intake said... she would not take him, because the owners will probably come back. I told her the owners moved to Calif. in April, and they are not going to travel back to Nashville to pick up their cat. The girl at the intake was not nice and said... cats are free roaming animals. I told her Ferrell cats attack him sometimes and that poison is placed around the dumpsters for rodents. She refused to take him. He died Saturday night, November 2nd. He was poisoned, and I think he ate the rodent bate. So sad that this place could not have taken him and had him adopted out. He was a year old in Oct. and was the sweetest friendly cat. I could not keep him, because of family members allergic to cats.

Best kitty ever!! Got him back in 2022, and was told he was very aggressive and brought back twice because of it. After a few months of being in a better environment, he immediately softened up and became the most lovable and snuggly cat♥️♥️♥️

I cannot recommend MACC enough! I fostered two dogs through MACC and ended with my third foster being a foster fail. I ask many questions throughout fostering, and they answered within a day and were there to help me every step of the way. I would give communication and support 10/5 stars. The workers there are truly passionate about what they do and do everything in their power to help our city’s homeless animals. Being the only intake shelter in Nashville, they are BUSY, but each time I was there they were patient and gave me full attention. They know each animal so well, and they will have a consultation with you to figure out which animal may be your perfect fit. For example, a big deciding factor of mine was to get a dog who isn’t a barker as I live in an apartment and a dog who is good with other dogs, and they took that into consideration when picking out my fosters. They will be completely transparent with you about any issues or concerns. I have recommended everyone I know to get a pet from MACC. I will always be a huge supporter. Thank you for all you do!!!

I had searched everywhere it seemed for a kitty after losing my 18 yr old cat. A friend suggested Metro as there are so many pets needing homes. I didn't expect to find her, but there she was. Love at first sight. Metro had given her shots, run tests, flea treatment and microchip. She had already been spayed. 8 yrs old. Baklava. It was a great experience. The facility was well run and compassionate. I give them 5 stars. And my gratitude.
