-100⭐'s Do NOT waste your time, energy, emotions..Do NOT share your feelings, feelings that are caused from being in such a desperate situation that you would normally never have, or you'll have the cops called on you! You cannot be honest with any of these places. You can't be honest with anyone. People are allowed to feel certain things that they normally wouldn't feel and should be allowed to express those feelings of hopelessness (they will tell you they are a safe space, they will tell you the trauma therapist is a safe space to share your thoughts and feelings. I heavily advise you do NOT!!!!!!) to be able to express those things even if you don't mean them because we all going through this DV mess are just so emotionally, mentally, and physically exhausted! It is so very sad to say this but it's 100% true, I would have stayed and if I can b/c of this place I'll now go back. This isn't great advice but if you don't want to be humiliated and die in your car, stay in your situation until you have gathered the finances to get out on your own b/c these places will not help you!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have called every single domestic violence shelter in Flagstaff and you will go through this process with all of them. YOU WILL BE DENIED WITH NO ANSWER. I have an extreme case and medical situation and I was denied. Spoken to as if I'm illiterate. Don't waste your time. Being completely vulnerable, crying, expressing your fear.. sharing with them the most intimate details of what you've endured. Sharing that you have lupus and cancer. You've been in your car for a month chewing through the last of the finances (none left) you had to try to get on your own two feet without having to seek intervention from one of these places. All to break down and share the most intimate private horrific traumatic moments of your life and have serious medical needs that need attention, YOU WILL BE DENIED WITH NO ANSWER. The most dehumanizing experience I've ever encountered. To be spoken to as if I am illiterate was degrading. Slow monotone script reading is like nails on a chalkboard.. your best option is to stay, gather the resources and support system that you're going to need, and then leave.

I am homeless from another state with a child who has autism and we did not qualify to stay at their shelter. Really hurtful that I had to wait two days to hear if I was approved or not while I became dehydrated and sick so my daughter could have fluids and food. I wasted my time hoping that we would hear yes. You are horrible people and I truly hope you get what comes for you in the afterlife. Truly despicable people who don't care about children or people fleeing a domestic violence situation. Do not work with these people.

Once again I have tried to get help in Arizona and have been turn away not because of bed space because I don’t qualify. Getting a glass table thrown at me and I have a big gash down the back of my leg and have been sleeping out of a garage haven’t showered barely or eaten but they said I am not an emergency. Wow so I have a bed but let him beat you up some more and wait till your in the gutter! I don’t no how these people sleep at night.

I first would like to thank God my Creator and the Universe to have guided me at this very compassionate staff, volunteers, and organizations who have assisted me in the past at this facility. They helped me by encouraging me. I had a lot of moral support by attending group therapy on DV. Art therapy which is one of my greatest talents 💜 I learned a whole lot through this wonderful place. They truly care and supportive. They go above and beyond for others at this facility for DV Survivors. And I would highly encourage any woman who is in a violent abusive relationship who really needs help. Don't hesitate to contact them🪷 facility

This is an invaluable resource. Warm and kind staff, intake was simple and very compassionate. If you need help and you think you are being abused (not all abuse is physical) call the police and ask them for help getting connected with this service, or call them and ask for help. I did not use this service, but was able to get someone help through them. I felt completely comfortable leaving this person with the staff and knew that they would make sure this person was well loved and cared for.

In my Will, I have left everything I own to HALO House. HALO House sheltered my bruised and bloodied body, mind and soul and nurtured me for 3 months when I came here in 1999 and I am so sorry to hear from others that now, 21yrs later, the people running this place with a Halo around it, is evil. Nevertheless, the purpose of this organization is straight from God and I couldn't be more grateful for them. I pray God would restore this wonderful organization to its full purpose.
