When a distressed and agitated stray dog showed up at our manufacturing business, we were able to get animal services on site within twenty minutes. I was concerned for both the safety or our employees and the dog, so I was very thankful for the quick response. The officer was fantastic with the big scared dog. This is a guy who has found his calling. I was so impressed. He was quick, efficient, kind and caring. I did have to call a few times and try a few different Springfield Police Department phone numbers before reaching somebody to connect me to the single animal control officer who serves the city. But I know they helped keep our community safer thanks to their assistance in this situation.

This is an absolute garbage joke of a service I’ve left multiple complaints about the neglect of the dog in my neighbors yard, not to mention the snapping and snarling through the fence when I’m in my own yard. Now these people have two neglected, untrained, out of control German shepherds instead of just one. They left them outside barking, whining, and howling through the thunderstorm last night, other than periodically screaming at the dogs when it annoyed them. This morning I watched the neighbor lure the dog to her like she was going to pet it and then shove, hit, and kick one of the dogs. I tried to call three times and got no answer. Just the automated message about no one was available. Those dogs are being treated HORRIBLY and it’s only getting worse and no one is doing anything. I can not stress enough that animal control for Springfield is a friggin joke.

Dogs at large, dogs biting, dogs constantly barking, dog neglect...how can anyone not ever walk their pets so the can void. No one answers the phone, no call backs from msgs left, no response to verbal complaints. Spfld has 1 AC officer and this is not working. Code Enforcement said they might be able to work something out and would call back in 2 weeks. After 4 weeks I had to call them back and no response to my msg.

Complete joke of animal service you can never get through to this guy and the county still only has one person. This is a huge problem that really needs to be addressed. I’ve left numerous messages and calls and still no response to the point one dog who kept getting out actually got hit by a car. Need a person who genuinely cares about the safety and well being of our animals and this guy clearly doesn’t. STEP UP YOUR GAME BRIAN

Never available, never able to be contacted, and no results for any complaints I’ve made. I understand lack of funding/resources but what the heck?!?!?! And when you contact non emergency, they transfer you before you can even make a case. What a joke.

I really appreciate Brian. I have worked with him for years with a variety of dog issues. I walk my dog around the neighborhood every day, and have found a number of strays. Brian is always there for me. He genuinely cares about getting the dogs back to their owners safely. He is a neighborhood advocate, and I’m so glad he is in our community.
