This review is only relevant to the booking process. I cannot comment on the quality of medical care provided as I never got the chance to bring my dog in. I tried to book an initial new patient appointment nearly three months out. As I am struggling financially, I did not have the $100.00 required deposit to hold the appointment. So I got a message that the appointment was canceled the appointment. I don't see why they could not have held the appointment until at least closer to the March date before demanding money that I did not have. I love my dog but if I have to chose between feeding my family and a vet visit its obvious.

Bad in every aspect. Don’t waste your time, energy, or money here and go somewhere else, for you and your pet’s sake. The front desk rarely correctly submits insurance claims despite saying they will do so after every visit, the techs manhandled my dog in another room then lied to me about it, and the vets don’t even attempt to act like they care about my dog’s wellbeing and would rather try to upsell me on countless tests and vaccines every time I walk in the door. Went to Family Pet for our first visit and the vet there spent more time actually examining my dog than all of the vets we saw at Oz in over a year, combined. If you value the health of your pet, your time, or your money, I highly recommend not stepping foot in this place.

I recently switched to Oz after having a horrible experience at another chicago vet chain. I have a reactive rescue and he was given love and kindness during his care! The team really connected with him and me, making sure all my questions were answered and his screenings were completed. Really night and day compared to the other vet. We’ve had 2 follow up visits and he doesn’t even seem scared to go in, which is the opposite of his previous vet.

This place is great. We actually followed our vet (Dr. Katz) from another office because we liked her so much. We've got a senior dog who's starting to run into health issues and they've been wonderful. Calling to check on him, explaining test results and treatment options, researching new treatments...can't say enough good things about Oz and Dr. Katz.

This is a long over due, 5 star review! We took our 8 week old puppy, Monty, to Oz after picking him up from the breeder in April 2020. Within 24 hours, Monty was incredible sick and Oz was the closest vet to our apartment. Because we had just gotten him, any sickness was not yet covered by our pet insurance plan. Oz worked with us by keeping Monty in-patient during the day and we would nurse him at night for about 10 days. The Vets and staff took such great care of him, and did an excellent job guiding us through a difficult situation by taking time to explain to us everything that is going on. We tried talking to our crazy breeder, and Oz was kind enough to send a letter to us describing the illness - didn't help much because the breeder was insane, but the jester was appreciated! They worked with us on the finances, since we did not plan to have such a large expense immediately after getting our dog. If it wasn't for Oz, I am not sure Monty would have survived. I would recommend this vet to EVERYONE! We are so grateful for them! See pictures for a sad sick puppy, and a happy and healthy dog, who loves going to Oz Animal Hospital!

Rogers Park location: My dogs have had good care here but it's either a matter of them being too busy or too unorganized because they seem to have the utmost difficulty filling a simple prescription. Every.Single.Time. and my dog kinda needs his insulin.
