Description Animal Defense League of Arizona (ADLA) is a statewide animal protection organization that has worked since 1987 on behalf of companion animals, farm animals, wildlife, animals in laboratories, and animals in entertainment. ADLA's largest program is the Spay Neuter Hotline which is a statewide leader in spaying and neutering companion animals and outdoor cats. It Traps, Neuters, and Returns (TNR) between 10,000 and 15,000 cats per year in Maricopa County and makes statewide referrals to low cost and no cost spay/neuter services for pets.

ADLA has helped me sterilize hundreds of outdoor cats via the Spay Neuter Hotline. Submitting the online TNR Request form is always fastest so I can get those appts to help reduce the cat overpopulation. Thank you for all you do for the community. We need you!
These are not volunteers, they are paid employees. The need a refresher course on how to communicate nicely and effectively with people who are only - trying - to do a good thing. Im emailing real time with Celia who refuses to answer my simple question about how to contact the Spay Neuter Clinic to ask about paying for Vaccines and that costs and she says; Do you want a schedule an appointment? If so call this number. So i call that number and guess what - it’s Celia. Short curt answers unwillingness to answer questions. 2 stars is generous for the Associate i have been working with.
EDIT: I have been contacted and both the ladies I have spoken to are very nice. There are apparently only 4 of them servicing to whole Phoenix area, so understandably so they took a while to get back to me I have been reaching out for a couple of months through voicemail, email, Facebook and the form online. After more than 6 months,I haven’t heard back once. I understand this is volunteer run but I constantly get referred to ADLA from other organizations in the area but they never respond. Now there are many kittens in the neighborhood and I am nowhere closer to controlling the population. I just need some help.
I used ADLA in Jan. 2022 to spay and neuter a mother cat and her four kittens, all ferals. They were fantastic, I filled out the form on their website and was contacted within a few days. They set up the appointments for the spay neuter surgeries and I borrowed their traps and had all the cats finished in ten days. They were fantastic to work with and they only ask for a $25 donation for each surgery. My own vet was booked for three months and was charging over $400 for one surgery, so I cannot say enough good things about ADLA. If you can afford it, please give them an extra donation, we need to make sure that they can continue the good work they do.
How can this program work if they never answer the phone or call you back? We have called several times for 2 feral cats that need to be spay and neutered now, not in 3 months. I would take them if I could but I can't. A follow-up and an appointment would be nice please.
I have submitted their contact form three times in the last four months. During the last four months I have also left seven messages and I have not been contacted in return. Now it is too late and who knows how many more kittens will be born this spring. Worthless organization!
