Description Funded entirely by donations and operated by volunteers, our no-kill shelter currently homes over 300 dogs and cats, many of whom have been abused, abandoned or literally tossed away. Teams of volunteers work with the animals two shifts a day, 365 days a year, providing them with a safe and caring environment until we can place them in permanent, loving homes. Over the years we have matched thousands of lucky animals with equally lucky families. Please visit our website (staf.org) for adoption hours, volunteering opportunities, open house event dates and a wealth of other information!

Our family has adopted two cats over the years from Save the Animal Foundation. The volunteers were so amazing helping us find our perfect fur babies. Adopting whether it being a cat or dog is such a dig decision. STAF prepares you for what to expect and guidance if there is questions or help as your pet gets adjusted to their new environment. Foundation’s like STAF have blessed most importantly animals that were in need with the best care and a loving environment till they meet their forever home! The have certainly blessed us too! I’ve been volunteering with STAF on the dog team for about a year and a half. STAF is run entirely by volunteers. The animals are so loved and cared for while at the shelter, and STAF does an amazing job of finding homes that are a great fit. The adoption process is a little more in depth than at shelters that just let anyone walk in off the street and take home an animal. Because of it, each animal is able to find a home where they can truly thrive. I am really thankful for STAF and all of the amazing work the volunteers do. I can’t recommend it enough, both for volunteering and for finding your new best friend.
We adopted Marigold in February and we love her very much. The adoption process was great. We couldn't decide so many great cats. Marigold is a great addition to our family.
STAF is absolutely amazing! They are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Before meeting with the cats I was sent a questionnaire about my living situation and preferences so they could make sure i met the cats best suited to me. Amy was my awesome adoption coordinator, she answered all my questions and introduced me to a load of little buddies including the one I ended up taking home. I was provided with a full health history and vet recommendations. The take home kit they provide is extremely thorough, including a carrier, scratching pad, toys, litter, and food! After the adoption, STAF made sure to check in on us via email and is still available for any questions and advice I may need as a first time cat owner. I would give them 6 stars if I could. I have never seen a shelter that provides so much for their cats, not only in regard to their physical health but also their emotional one. 4 months later, my cat is the perfect companion and I couldn't be happier.
Our family is very thankful to all the volunteers who keep the Save the Animals Foundation open, you are all SO WONDERFUL! Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there adoption process had to be adjusted and it was incredibly seamless. After submitting an adoption application we were scheduled for a pre-screening phone conversation with an Adoption Coordinator, we spoke with Julie who was so lovely and kind. We then were scheduled for a visit to the shelter to met and play with all the kittens and cats! So fun! Upon arriving at the shelter, we were greeted with a warm and welcoming [masked] smile by Adoption Coordinator Amy. We immediately fell in love with Jemma and scheduled a pickup the following week to give her time to see their in-house veterinarian. Adoption day! Jemma is about 20 weeks old and is a Russian Blue breed. We were sent home with a gallon of cat food, gallon of litter, toys, and a plastic carrier to safely transport Jemma home. Perks of adopting a slightly older cat? She was already litter boxed trained and immediately used the scratch boxes. #winning We are absolutely blown away with the shelters service, everyone was lovely and supportive through the seamless process of adopting our kitten. We couldn't have imagined it any better, all the volunteers are very passionate about what they do and it's truly received by those who visit the shelter. Thank you!
I could not be more pleased with this shelter! The workers (all volunteers!) clearly love these animals and are very helpful throughout every step of the adoption process and beyond. They even make a point to specify that the animal you adopt from them will always have a home at STAF if for some reason it doesn’t work out. Thankfully, things have been working out wonderfully with my Zira, who I adopted from them last year. I would absolutely recommend checking them out for your next furry friend :)
