I’ve personally worked here & they put on a show for the public. They said they were a kill free, but that is huge lie. I came in from lunch a couple of times & all the puppies were killed. Healthy & unhealthy for no reason. They had put them all to sleep for absolutely no reason at all. It broke my heart to see all them puppies murdered for no reason. It was horrific. They aren’t as friendly as they seem!

All of the employees here are sweet to all the animals there and they take very good care of them all!! They love what they do. Adopt, adopt, adopt if you are able too!! It was honestly the best decision I have made and now I got the sweetest most loving kitten ever! His name is Neptune and he's about 4 months old and he's my sweet little baby and oh do I and my whole family love him so very much!!

The staff here is always wonderful and it’s obvious they care for their animals. Always a pleasant experience. My only complaint with my visit today is the young lady upfront at the desk. She was not polite whatsoever and lacked people skills. When I asked her about their deal they were having she said “What deal” (as she gave me a face like I was stupid) although several of the other workers knew what the deal was about and then she proceeded to shrug her shoulders and not say a word. She had a blank expression the entire time and was not pleasant. I also asked her if a particular cat and puppy happened to still be there and she shrugged her shoulders with a very ugly expression on her face and ignored me afterwards. Just kept giving a blank stare. They need someone to take her place.. it’s obvious she doesn’t want to be there and not many people will want her there if she keeps having that attitude.

I used to love TLHS when I was volunteering, fostering, and I had donated from an event I had and planned on doing it after every event. NEVER AGAIN. If my “brand” isn’t good enough for y’all neither will my money be ever again. The atmosphere in this place speaks volumes if you pay attention. They’re always needing volunteers and can’t ever keep employees. The inner workings (the board) of this place needs to EVOLVE; not everyone is stuck in 1960 version of MS. There are other local rescues that are amazing and need supporting. Do your research before supporting here. I wish I would’ve.

Got my middle child (dog) from here. She had undergone an amputation just before I brought her home. She had follow up visits where they were treated her with loving care. I am pleased to have a place like this in my community.
