I can't say enough good things about WLAH (Westlake Animal Hospital). I have used them in the past (Oct. 2020) for her previous dental but this time they were beyond outstanding. I have a 14- year old senior pug that needed a dental procedure. I went in end of march for a consult with Dr. V and he was on top of his game. He had a plan and made sure I understood everything and comfortable with next steps. I had the front desk help me schedule the procedure with the vet that I wanted and a day that worked for me. When they couldn't schedule due to far in-advance, they reached out to me as promised to schedule it 1-2 days prior to the procedure on May 10th, I had spoken with Jacob and Brittany in regards to some procedure and anesthesia-risk concerns, etc. They went above and beyond with extra phone calls, checking into options and calling back as promised - they did a great job !!! Then I called in during the day of my little pug's dental procedure checking on her hours after drop-off and additional questions and had a chance to speak with Courtney. I spoke with her and she was yet again FANTASTIC. I arrived to pick up my little one and had a few request with getting some documentation sent to me via email including to my local vet and Courtney states "not a problem" - happy to help, made herself a note to remember and called me as promised for the information requested. From the time I had gone into WLAH for her dental consult and after procedure for pickup and the multiple interactions that I had, I can't say enough GREAT things about them. The staff is trained well, great customer service and very parent/dog friendly forward to ensure everyone is taken care of. Anytime I go into Westlake, the front desk team, technicians and vet Dr. V is always on top of their game and beyond accommodating for a returning customer. On top of living 90+ mins away, this is why I would only trust a complex surgery and putting my fur baby in the best hands to receive the best care. The vet Dr. V even called a few hours after arriving home after picking up my little one to see how she was doing and answer any questions. pictures of my little one between pickup and Sunday nite how much she has perked up after anesthesia has dissipated and she's recovering so nicely. IT is ALL thanks to WLAH.

Super nice front desk staff, but medical team seemed rushed and scattered. Very little face time with vet. Pet whisked to a back room for all care, then brought back to me by a person who did not introduce herself. She was clearly in a hurry. Told me all was good, pet a little over weight. No guidance on diet provided. No discussion of shots given or reactions. Before she left I asked if she was the vet or a tech, and she said vet. She seemed nice, but the visit was rushed and I have no clear idea what treatment was provided.

I brought my pup to visit this clinic after ours closed. Our first visit was fine, they couldn’t do much because my pup was reactive, so they gave sedatives for our next visit. The second visit: we waited 45 minutes even though we had an appt, and when we went into the room, they immediately took her behind a closed door for a basic checkup. I don’t know what happened, but she became even more reactive and protective of me (a behavior she does not exhibit otherwise). I was also told that she needed to restart all of her vaccines and shots, despite having 1-2 doses of the basics (a different clinic confirmed this would not have been necessary and would have been very expensive). I do not recommend this clinic although the staff was friendly. We recommend the North Lamar Vet Clinic - much better experience!

Westlake Animal Hospital went above and beyond to care for my French Bulldog. We travelled from out of town for Gus to have a surgical procedure. From the booking of the appointment, to the consultation to the day of the procedure, the experience was top notch. Signe, a senior vet tech, was so thorough and helpful. She even followed up the day after to make sure Gus was ok. I 10 out of 10 recommend! Thank you, Westlake Animal Hospital!

Highly recommend Westlake! They are incredibly affordable and efficient with their action plan. Brought my cat, Silas, in for a sudden surgery, and he received excellent care from a wonderful team. Definitely my go-to place for my pets in the future!!

My recent visit to the veterinary clinic left me feeling frustrated and disappointed. Despite having been in less than a month ago for a similar issue, Dr. Gwin seemed reluctant to acknowledge the recurring nature of my dog's ear infection. This led to unnecessary testing and delays in treatment. In my opinion, a simple phone call would have sufficed, allowing for a refill of the prescription and a quick reminder about cleaning the ears with the recommended solution. Instead, I was charged for a consultation and another cytology that could have been handled more efficiently. This experience, in combination with the previous discussion of administrative and billing errors, along with the charge for unnecessary clinical support and the issue with my Thrive Membership benefits, has left me questioning the clinic's commitment to providing quality care. Moving forward, I hope to see improvements in patient communication and education, with a focus on providing timely and cost-effective care.
