I really had a pleasant visit. From checking in with Annie to the vet Dr. LittleJohn and Pete. Grant you it might not be as up to date as you wish but they took time to explain everything to me. I felt at home with my dog Benzi who has Diabetes. Not everyone is going to have pleasant things to say, I say check it out yourself before taking everyone word. I will be back because I’m comfortable taking Benzi there.
Literally the worst vet I've ever been to. Disgustingly dirty and unsanitary. The room was a huge mess when we came in and the vet was just throwing trash around. There was an uncapped syringe on the counter when we came in and a disgusting used comb covered in who knows what that the vet then used to brush my cat without washing it first. No gloves were worn by anyone and at one point the vet was waving an uncapped needle in his hand while also holding a light to look into my cat's eye. Everyone was super rude and unprofessional, our appointment was over an hour late. I wish I could give it zero out of 5 stars, please take your animals literally anywhere else if you can.
I have owned two dogs simultaneously since 1992. And all of my beloved dogs over the years have received top quality vet care from Dr. Littlejohn and his assistant Pete, and Annie the receptionist. And I have boarded my dogs there a number of times over the years with not one issue. I have only good things to say about O’Neals. Friendly, pleasant and courteous. When I go to O’Neals Animal Hospital, I know my dogs are in good hands. No, it’s not all glitzy and shiney and modern looking but the pet care is the best. I’ve read a couple one star reviews and can’t believe it’s the same place. I have never experienced nor witnessed any of the matters mentioned by others. Your fur babies are in good hands with O’Neals.
Took my 13 lb dog here today to get his annual shots. We recently got new pet insurance (Pet Assure) and this was one of the vets listed, and the closest to us with some fairly good reviews, so we decided to give it a try. What. A. Mistake. Our appointment was for 11, we got there a few minutes early, checked in, and proceeded to wait for an entire hour before being lead into an exam room. The photos in a previous review from a year ago are still accurate. The whole room covered in dust and dirt and weird stains from floor to ceiling. It took another 5-10 minutes for the vet to come in, and during that time the vet assistant was walking in and out of one of the three doors in the exam room, gathering equipment, going to the exam room next to us, not speaking to us the entire time. Once the vet did come in, we went over what we were getting done (vaccinations) and went over prior medical records. Neither he nor the assistant were wearing gloves, and if we hadn't seen the vet wash his hands before doing the shots we probably wouldn't have believed he did. Before doing vaccinations, they gave our dog a physical exam, the whole time grabbing him by his harness or collar and pulling him over to the vet on the exam table. The vet didn't ask if it was okay to pull him by the harness or collar (he did have a leash attached and also was on a table no wider than a foot and a half). The vet and his assistant then very suddenly flipped our dog over on his back, asking me to help hold him still, to.. I think examine his belly? He also mentioned almost as an afterthought that our dog has a slight heart murmur - this is something I've never been told by his previous vet, and given how stressed our dog was it wouldn't surprise me if his heartbeat was irregular. Our dog at this point was very stressed and uncomfortable, so we got some treats out to help him get through the vaccinations. Thankfully the vaccinations went okay with the helpful distraction of peanut butter and cheese. We then had to wait another 15 to 20 minutes for a prescription for something they did not supply in office. At this point, we just wanted to leave, so we gladly left the room and went to check out. With our pet insurance, it specifically says to present the card at checkout, and the vet's office would give a 25% discount for services. We told this to the receptionist and she said "No you'll have to file a claim with them, but you'll pay the full total today." We told her that the app instructed us to show her the card and what it said, and she just said "okay" not looking at the card, and giving my partner an annoyed glance. Overall, this was a horrible experience. We will definitely not be coming back. I'm sure there are people that have good experiences here, but I cannot overlook the grime, dust, and lack of sanitation pretty much anywhere. Please don't bring your pet here.
I took my feline to the vet last week and the visit was an amazing one. Dr. Littlejohn handled my feline with care and asked me if I had any concerns about him and he cut his nails for me (you know it was a fee, but I didn't mind) and his assistant was great too.
I have visited O'Neal over many years with my pets. Dr. Littlejohn has always been thorough. This was an emergency appointment and I was so grateful I could be seen that day. Bandit and I both thank you.
