Description BluePearl Pet Hospital in Duluth is an after-hours emergency vet and animal hospital in Duluth serving northern Minnesota, the Arrowhead region and northern Wisconsin. Our 2,600-square-foot hospital opened in 2006, as Affiliated Emergency Veterinary Service, and serves a broad area in northern Minnesota and Wisconsin. We focus exclusively on full-service emergency treatment. What do we mean by full service? We will triage, diagnose and treat any pet emergency using in-house diagnostics such as x-ray, ultrasound and laboratory tests. We’ll even perform emergency surgery.

Fortunately Blue Pearl was able to get my dog in asap. My dog had an ear infection. He was seen fast and the staff was kind, caring and friendly. They got a diagnosis fast and got him some medicine to go home with. Gave me good instructions and sent us home. I highly recommend their services. They are an animal hospital so prepare to pay a higher amount. Overall very satisfied with the care my dog received!

I could not give this team of vets a higher review. Our sweet girl got a fish hook stuck in her leg and we had to drive two and a half hours to Duluth for care. They were SO kind and compassionate. They told us they’d do their best to have a room ready to go for her right when we got there (and they did), please be mindful every single emergency vet has to take the most critical cases first, so in our case we had to wait about an hour since thankfully she was handling just fine. I advise people to utilize their patience and gratitude when you walk through those doors, and be thankful if your dog is one of the cases lucky enough to be low priority. I wish I knew all the names of everyone who helped us, but the Duluth staff on 7/8 deserve everything and more! Thank you so much!

Dan is the bestest boy, and my best friend. He has run in with a porcupine, and all my local vets were closed. I had to drive him over an hour to Duluth which super sucked, but he received excellent care. The staff was awesome. They were able to de-quill him quickly. They gave good follow up instructions, and were very compassionate (I mean…look at him…he’s a hunk) Other than the fact that I could have bought a used Toyota Corolla for what it cost, it was great. Also, if I wasn’t old and bitter I would have asked the young lady with glasses out. Anyways…5 stars

I am fortunate that my primary veterinarian recommended that I take my German Shepherd dog Ranger into Duluth to the BluePearl Pet Hospital. Upon arrival they were waiting for him. They knew his name and were well aware of his condition as well as his medical history and took him right in. Within 24 hours they determine that he needed to see a specialist at their Arden Hill hospital in the Twin Cities. During his short stay, he was treated like a king and so was I. If you ever have an emergency involving your pet and you live within driving distance of Duluth, this is the place to take your pet. The entire staff is friendly and extremely professional. They care deeply about animals and work tirelessly to Improve the healthcare of your pet. To say, I recommend them falls short of how I actually feel. The Northland is lucky to have them..

The care and attention given to our dog and ourselves was amazing and very appreciated. For some people, when your pet needs emergent care one isn’t always able to fully grasp what is needed to be done. The staff made the information very easy to understand and assisted us in figuring out the best course of action to help our dog. We truly believe that the information and tools we received from Blue Pearl saved our dog’s life.

We were on vacation and 8 hours from home when our puppy got bit by another dog and our vet instructed us to go get his wound cleaned and started on oral antibiotics ASAP. He said dog bites almost always get infected, so even though he was acting normal and it was no longer bleeding (we cleaned it ourselves immediately) we had to go in. We called probably 10-15 vets offices closer, but no one could get us in as they were all already over booked. Everyone at blue pearl was absolutely amazing and kind. They were upfront about the long wait time, as highest priority would go first, and very kind with offering to keep him there (at no extra cost) so we could go get food and pass the time faster. When I expressed my concern of him being in a kennel with other barking dogs around, they reassured me and said he could hangout with the staff since they all “needed the snuggles after a rough prior day” 😭. The wait was probably 7-8 hours, but I just kept reminding myself that I was the LUCKY one in this case, considering I dropped off a healthy, happy pup and that I was happy he wasn’t a higher priority. My only regret was snapping at their staff when they promptly allerted me that an animal came in in critical condition and was taking priority when goose was next to be seen, and they couldn’t give me a good estimate on how much longer we would be waiting. Goose was happy as could be and probably getting all the snuggles, I was the one bawling in my car lol but they were still so kind to me and reassuring when I apologized a million times at pick up. I could have gone in to get him at anytime, and they did remind me that, but I didn’t want him to see me bawling and be stuck in a car when she told me he was relaxed and sleeping. When they called us to come get him, they explained everything, answered all my questions, gave great discharge instructions, and had his meds ready. 10/10 would go back, but I just pray we don’t ever have to lol. Can’t thank their amazing staff enough for being so loving on my boy and kind to his upset, crying dog mom.
