I stayed here once. They make you do meaningless chores. Rake leaves. Stripe copper wire. Etc. There was a derelict bicycle next to the scrap trailer and Billy told me to break it down. Then the owner accused me of stealing bicycle parts from it. It was a Huffy. I was riding a Giant. I told him there's nothing on that bike that would fit in mine and Billy told me to do it if I had nothing better to do. So I was just trying to be helpful. Owner accused me of arguing with him and I guess I'm banned now. You can't have a job there. Just sit around all day doing nothing. This place is crazy.

Change your name or your rules. I have been to rescue missions in different areas & you are NOT a "rescue" mission. A rescue mission is meant to help those who are down to get back on there feet. I came here less than hour ago and first i was told I'm not allowed to keep my car on the property, ok, i can deal with that... And then i get told that I'm not allowed to stay at all because I have a job.... Firstly, you have a huge empty parking lot so why the heck are residents not allowed to park in the parking lot... Its called a "parking" lot for a reason.... Second, not allowing your residents to have an actual job & making them work for you and only you is only enabling them to stay down. Yes, this is first mission i have tried to stay at but I have volunteered at 3 others. All of which would be more than happy to give someone who already had a job a place to live for the very simple fact that having and keeping a regular job is clear proof you are at least trying to get back on your feet & make something out of your life. To turn someone down that is trying to get back up on their feet simply because they have a job is stupid and down right disrespectful. You are not a rescue mission, you are a joke. And for anyone thinking the question of "why don't I stay with one of those 3 missions?" I am in Mississippi and those 3 missions are based in Wisconsin & Illinois

First off let me say if I'm going to review you either done something extremely good or really mucked up because I don't do reviews. I am absolutely shocked. I read the reviews for this place and ignored that so many of them said negative things like they want you to spend all your time working for them instead of bettering your life or don't go there. I figured what the heck I'm not staying long term I can afford to spend one day working for them. I went there while it was pouring rain rain when the temperature was expected to get down to 10° above freezing and granted it was a little late but I cannot believe that a homeless shelter ran by a church would turn a man away in that kind of weather. I wasn't high or drunk either. I could have easily become hypothermic or got pneumonia both of which can kill a man. Wonder if the church has no compassion, human decency or mercy too. I spent the whole night soaked and shivering, thanks to this "rescue mission"

But one thing if you don't any schedule medications that won't let you stay in there like when we almost got hit when I was homeless living right down the road from there a couple years ago I didn't even have any pills in the bottle and they saw where I was taking some for generalized anxiety and post-traumatic stress or summer bedroom so I don't see how they say that they're helping people you know I guess they do a great service for others though so that's my thought on

They present the Best of the leftover foods from local businesses and often cook fresh stuff. They are sticklers for everyone being there at prayers before meals, miss that and miss the meal.
