I think the mission of this organization is a great idea however my experience was not a good one. Specifically when trying to foster. The application is easy however the “interviewer” I was scheduled which apparently had a bad day and took it out on my family. She was spiteful after two no shows per her email. She took it out on me by calling before my 5:30pm interview to volunteer. Then when I called on time per the schedule she ignored my call and sent me an email immediately after stating she was “calling it a day”. Very inconsiderate of how that affects my family, my 10 year old child who was excited for the opportunity. This is after we tried to adopt. Denied. Tried to foster and was called ahead of schedule then asked to reschedule when the originally scheduled time wasn’t respected. Then met with an ignored call and short responses via email. Disappointed but maybe just not the type of organization I need to work with. Rejection is Gods Protection.

ABR is an amazing rescue group. The sweet girl we adopted was fortunate to have a wonderful foster mom who took the best care of her. We are so happy to have found our sweet girl and this group! Please be patient, as they are all volunteers and do a superb job of matching available dogs with the right owners, while also taking great care of the rescue dogs, which often require special medical attention and care.

The one star reviews are pretty ill informed. These bulldogs may be under stress, many have negative histories, and bulldogs in general can be expensive to own in the best of cases, and in many endearing ways you'll be adapting to them, not the other way around. Bulldogs deserve the highest chances of success for their future life. Kudos to all the ABR volunteers who give them that chance without compromise.

Fostered two bulldogs with them. They are incredible and really want to help dogs and people unite to make a beautiful family together. They will assist you all the way as a foster and as an adopter.

I am currently fostering a dog for the first time through this rescue. Let me tell you, I’m blown away. The response time, level of organization, support, and assistance you get with them has been amazing! I wish every thing I did was so well run. They care SO MUCH about these dogs and make sure they get A+ veterinary care. Awesome experience, 11/10 would recommend.

This is an incredible organization! I adopted my baby Travis from this rescue and can't say enough about the love these volunteers pour into what they do. To all of the bad reviews on this rescue about the communication... this is a RESCUE run by volunteers who choose to take time out of their lives to save dogs from neglect or worse. The whole point of adopting through a rescue is to give the best forever home to dogs that deserve the best, not for you to get a bargain bulldog at lightning speed. When I first reached out to the rescue I had my eye on a different dog but trust me, Travis was EXACTLY what I didn't know I needed and I wouldn't trade him for any other dog, ever.
