Description The San Antonio Humane Society (SAHS) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, no-kill organization that has served Bexar County and its surrounding areas since 1952. The SAHS shelters, medically treats, and rehabilitates thousands of dogs and cats every year. Thousands of dogs and cats in San Antonio and its surrounding areas are saved from euthanasia every year due to the mission and practices of the SAHS. Our Mission is to protect and improve the lives of dogs and cats by providing shelter, care, adoption, rescue, spay/neuter programs, and community education. Our Vision is to end pet over-population and to create a community where every dog and cat is treated with respect and compassion, and has a permanent and loving home.

I have adopted two puppies from this location at different times….Rosie (Dahlia) and Gizmo (Biggie). Our family is so grateful to everyone that works there, for doing all that you do! They were both positive experiences, and turned out to be wonderful doggies, thank you!

Camp Humane is excellent! Educational, interactive, passionate camp leads/assistants, and top level security with police presence, strict policies/procedures, and separation from general population. Camp Humane has a strict, zero tolerance policy/requirement involving identity verification of parent/guardian(s) for each camper enrollment. Familiar faces or not, no exceptions allowed! Definitely one of the top ranking benefits, I respect and support.

I always have a good to great experience with the Humane Society. What a great organization, and they have always done a great job S/N ferals or strays I bring in the clinic. No deaths, on my watch, which I appreciate. They're organized and, in my opinion, have it together and take good care. Thank you!

They took care of my cat Mocha. Unfortunately my cat took off his collar after 3hrs. So far my cat is in great condition after being neutered. AA++ recommended..
