I wish I could give them more stars, and I do not say this lightly. We brought our dog in with pyometra, which is a fast, silent killer, and they assessed and helped her immediately, they were upfront with costs, and saved her life under their assessed price. The staff was always kind and helpful, and the vets often spoke to me personally on the phone, and they encouraged us to call at any time. Their office is exactly as I would want to see it - very clean, well used and cared for equipment, with staff that moves quickly and obviously cares about the animals. Maybe some of the people who left poor reviews do not understand how emergency vets work or how expensive they are and why, so they did not understand that this office is a diamond. Thank you for all your help!
I loved the VCA in Kalamazoo, MI. My entire experience was amazing! I cannot recommend this enough!! My Golden Retriever, Lily turned 2 and the very next morning she woke with a horrible sounding cough. It was a barking sound and I was worried she might have Kennel Cough even though she's fully vaccinated. I called the VCA in Kalamazoo, MI and talked with a very nice person. They told me that I could bring her in to be evaluated if I wanted. They explained the steps. When I arrived, I called and was given directions of where to go since she'd had be to be seen in the isolation area. Becca met me at the door, greeted Lily and reassured me that she would take good care of her. I waited in my car and very soon received a call so they could get more information about Lily. I received another call from the Vet, Sara Alves wanting to explain their findings. I appreciated being given the option of talking with her over the phone or in person. The first thing Sara said was that Lily was a sweet dog. She was thorough in her explanation and patiently asked me if I had any questions. The receptionists very so friendly and told me to call with any questions. The cost of the visit was comparable to a visit to my Vet. It is such peace of mind knowing that they are there in the event we need them.
Dear VCA Team, I am writing this with immense gratitude and heartfelt appreciation for the incredible care and dedication you showed in saving my beloved cat, Mia. When we discovered that she had pyometra, I was terrified and heartbroken. Mia means the world to me, and the thought of losing her was unbearable. From the moment we arrived at VCA, your team handled Mia with such grace and compassion. Your professionalism and expertise were evident in every step of her treatment. The way you explained the situation, the procedures, and the care plan gave me hope and reassurance during a very difficult time. Thank you for going above and beyond to ensure Mia received the best possible care. Your swift actions and skilled hands truly saved her life. Mia is now on the road to recovery, and I owe it all to your dedication and hard work. Words cannot express how grateful I am for everything you have done. You have not only saved Mia’s life but also brought immense joy and relief to mine. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kindness, compassion, and exceptional care. With deepest gratitude, Peyton
I unfortunately had to use VCA for their emergency care to put our childhood cat down. I was shown nothing but kindness and compassion from the staff (before as well as after my visit) and so was my cat. I'm beyond grateful for the vets/staff here for making something that was very difficult to do, a little bit easier.
I have been here three hours and am still waiting to be discharged. They didn’t diagnose and recommended testing only that would cost $2000-3500. I declined and told them I was ready to leave. 45 minutes later someone came in to have me sign paper to decline recommended testing. Then they said someone would be in to give me discharge papers. I’ve been waiting for those for n hour. They did nothing and I feel like they won’t let me leave. We have come here before and it’s been the same. They are the only animal hospital in the area so there is not choice. They need more staff or another location. It took an hour to be let into a room, 45 minutes to be given papers to decline, and another hour to be released, then another 30 minutes to pay because tons of people in the waiting room. So 3.5 hours for nothing. This is always the case.
I cannot express enough gratitude and appreciation for VCA. I’m not from Michigan and my sweet baby Poe passed away unexpectedly last night while here on vacation and they were so understanding, gentle, and quick to get us in and situated during our final moments with our kitty. Luckily, they are able to ship his ashes back to our home which I am more than grateful for. I know he is in good hands here and I am extremely thankful that this place was open and willing to help during a tough situation as this. Thank you so much, VCA. You are truly the best and truly the kindest.
